Can't lie, it stings to see a game made in two weeks in 2k3 made the Best Old School category and a game with a ton of old school custom systems didn't. Not going to ponder on it but I won't be casting a single Misao Vote.

I was making a joke about how old games are all bad, so clearly a category of only old school games would be games whose primary feature is their badness.
I agree with you, but unfortunately, the Misaos are and always have been popularity based. To reach categories, you need nominations (at least two or three, I believe?), and to get nominations, people have to click that nominate button on your page. As such, the Misaos are, and always have been, a measure of overall popularity over actual quality, for better or for worse.
You may also want to consider that your temperament doesn't exactly welcome people, and that may be hurting people's willingness to engage with your games. People make jokes, especially so in statuses like this. It would help to not immediately assume they're trying to insult or demean you. Saying things like "I'd go on and really belittle you" in response to a joke immediately sets off people's red flags.

Yeah... There were loads who seemed odd for their categories, I assume some games were nominated in all categories instead of people looking at each category and nominating the ones for what they're best at. Your game was probably good, it's just how Misaos work, don't worry!

not sure why the misaos still happen, they were terrible even back when iishenron did them (all glory be to iishenron and the queen's court)

To be fair, Oblivion Quest was pretty good, old school wise, even if it was made in two weeks (and has been updated a bit since then, btw...)

Like I said, I liked DL, but I liked OQ better. I don't think time frame has much to do with the quality of a game - I've played games that took years to make and found them pretty dull and boring, whilst ones that took a few hours or days were a lot more fun and well-put together.
A lot of event games turn out to be pretty good, especially when development continues after the event is over.

Also it's hella silly to announce "I'M NOT VOTING BECAUSE I WASN'T NOMINATED!!!" because like 1) who the heck cares and 2) no, serioualy, why would anyone care who votes? Does anyone care who wins? Can you name a Misao winner from last year, without looking? I sure as heck can't.
