Star Ocean 5 Announced for PS3, PS4

man i want to be hype for this game, primarily because i want to have an excuse to buy a ps4 other than persona 5. But the designs are just blah. I really hope they didnt spend all their money on the render system and forgot to actually make characters with personalities.

edit: Siliconera added a new interview about SO5 where the developer says that the game is "made with older fans of the series in mind." I'm not sure how to think about that but let's say optimistic.

What are you thinking about right now?

finals finals finals finals *breaks down crying*

i wonder what he'd do about the goldfarmers. they could be anything. rocks. turtles. ice elementals.

MiniGame Prizes vs Overall RPG Difficulty

in persona 2, the casino had an endgame weapon, but for only one character, and then it's best other prizes were the ability to summon some really powerful personas that you couldn't even get until you got to like level 70. also that character leaves before the endgame really starts and you get someone else.

I really like how they did it, it felt very helpful but also didn't break the game.

RPG Maker Help?

I'm gonna have to say that a tutorial is probably your best bet for understanding all of this. there are some great build-along tutorials, and I think it'd be worth it to check one out, even if it is just casually. I keep reccommending this one to new peoples, cause its really quite comprehensive.

Star Ocean 5 Announced for PS3, PS4

i really like SO1 and i have SO2 but never beat it. I should fix that, its like a tales game but more 3d and that's always been fun.

ya know im suddenly reminded that rogue galaxy existed and that was a pretty cool game too.

Let's Talk about Map Design

I think that having the counter just directly across from the entrance so they don't have to dodge around things in order to get to the shopkeeper is an important thing for players to not get annoyed every time they have to go into the store. A store is about convenience and ease of access, so if its difficult to get to the shopkeep, then itll just be another annoyance the player needs to slog through.

edit: ratty beat me to the post and says the same thing better than i did

Do you think up of an ending before you start a story?

it depends. As I write I usually have an idea for the ending but I don't have it written until I get there.
