Over time, the direction of the site was changed from a predominantly RPG Maker focused one to, well, one that encouraged all game makers but discouraged RPG Maker. I never understood this. There was never any valid reason for this change of direction, because there was no demand for it on the forums. Non-RPG Maker games were a tiny minority. I always said that everything should be treated equally at GW, which is something that the site struggled with when it was a booming RPG Maker haven, and something that it continues to struggle with as a site that continuously pushes RPG Maker into a smaller and smaller area of the forums.
It's because Prickroad, WI(m)P, and their crew are intolerably obnoxious. Gamingw.net was great because for once a game making forum where they are marginalized as they should have been everywhere.
If they weren't such vocal part of the RPG maker community, and annoyed the fucked out of everybody, then RPG maker wouldn't have been ostracized, IMO.

Oh man! I have another problem.
I ask this girl to hangout with me at a bar and she told me that she's underage! So I took her to dinner instead cuz they let underage gurl in and I can order drinks for myself. But I'm 32 and she's turning 20 in 2 months. I thought she was older like 22, but she just act mature for her age.
I dunno I bet she's a virgin too now. But I still wanna hit it.
