THEULTIMATEPOTATOE'S PROFILE

There is an issue with the version I downloaded (which I downloaded the day I wrote this).

I've extracted all of the zipped files to a destination folder on the desktop so I could play the game, just so you know. (kind of duh)

ANYWAY, when I click the RPG_RT.EXE file a blanck white canvas fills the screen (suggesting initialization) for about seven seconds afterwhich, whether I tap F4 in the time that it occurs or not, a window with a black backround appears with a message stating:
"
DirectDraw Error
(DDERR_UNSUPPORTED)
"


Is it something to do with my computer? I have DirectX version 11.
I tried downloading another game and a similar issue occured.
Please help.
