You're magical to me.

Been seeing more blogs about people losing files and having to cancel or put their games on hiatus due to it. I know its pretty obvious, but remember to backup your files!

If you haven't done it in a while, why not go ahead and do so now? Just in case something bad happens.

Yes. Backup your files or I'll be DISAPPOINTED IN YOU!

The ultimate threat XD
I have an external hard dedicated to holding weekly backups of my projects during development. I really encourage people to do the same, especially if it's a longer-term project.
I make backups on my computer's second HDD, an external HDD, my laptop, AND a USB memory stick that's located at another site. It's kind of a 'more is better' reflex.

The problem with the "back up your files" mantra is that you really don't know when your computer is going to go up in flames. Most people who backup their files do it once a month, if they remember to do it. Only obsessive people truly do it daily, which is the sensible approach, but normal people expect their technology to not go kaput if it's less than five years old.

I still burn a lot of dvd's for backup purposes, because for some reason usb sticks are not trustworthy, and i can't afford an external hard drive. The only one i has could be read on one computer but any other computer wouldn't even detect it when i plugged it in, which has made me think of external hard drives as less trusty than usb sticks.

Really, i trust my 50+ dvd's because i've been able to read then from any computer even though it's aged tech.
You only really learn how to backup all of your stuff on a more consistent basis when you eventually DO happen to lose all of your stuff one day out of the blue and you know that it could have been avoided in the first place. That’s the only way anybody’s gonna learn these days, through experience and pain...but mostly the pain.

I usually manage to lose data by my own fault (like by accidentaly overwriting a disc). I think that having them backed up on internet is the most reliable solution.

Yeah but most people don't back up their shit EVER. Once a month > never.

I'd really like to get rid of LockeZ. His play style is way too unpredictable. He's always like this too. If he ran a country, he'd just kill and imprison people at random until crime stopped.

I haven't done anything productive in the last month anyway!

Current projects I keep on my phone, jump drive and another computer. It's good to be cautious and takes only minutes. I'd rather lose some minutes than an hours or days of work.
