This is the internet not America ;)
I'm not saying you've expressed hate speech yourself per say. Just scrutinizing your opinion.
Yeah, and I can scrutinize that opinion is moronic to suggest anything I say is "hate speech".
And sure, you can ban everybody and turn the forums into a massive hugbox, but do you really want to be like REEEEEsetera?

The saddest part is that his mind has atrophied it such a hardened husk incapable of self-reflection that he probably considers himself enlightened.
You sound very angry. Are you okay?

He has to simplify everything said to him so that it fits within his narrow viewpoint. He doesn't even seem to realize how hard he is projecting.author=veggiebadStop destroying people Kentona, someone please think of the children!author=kentonaNot believing in a hivemind is really astounding, isn't it, buddy? It's almost like you are unable to comprehend the fact that people have different opinions and perspectives in life and do not compare to the actual monsters who are willing to destroy anyone they don't agree with.
ha wow.
I mean, you were disingenuous from the start, but your closed-mindedness has truly astounded me.
I suppose if you were that narrow minded I guess it would begin to look like all ideas from "the outside" would look like a hivemind cabal.
If your irony was uranium you can power the entire planet.
HEARTBEAT
author=StarSkippauthor=veggiebadYeah but it gives less credibility to the actual opinion and opens it up more to scrutiny, especially if there are laws around it. I'm pretty sure people can prosecuted for hate speech, at least in Europe in any case.
Yeah, but here in the US, we have a law called the 1st amendment where we can't be prosecuted over opinions or hurt feelings.
You have every right to call yourself an attack helicopter, but that doesn't mean I have to recognize it.
There is no law here for hate SPEECH. Speech is speech and it is protected under the 1st amendment. You can be open for scrutiny, but hurting someone's feelings is not illegal.

I will not miss you.
Yeah, enjoy turning the forums and the comment threads into a hugbox. Definitely, questioning the hivemind is against the TOS right?

author=StarSkippauthor=veggiebadFunnily enough most European counties including Canada and America (state by state basis) Have something along the lines of a gender recognition law. Where upon trans can legally have their gender changed.
Hate to break it for you, kid, but "Trans women aren't women" IS an opinion. It's an opinion that the girlfriend has EVERY right to hold. If you can't handle that, then maybe you should grow a thicker skin.

An unfounded opinion that results in actions and words that are unjust is prejudice. It doesn't matter if it's technically an opinion; it's still unfounded, it still hurts people, and it's still unreasonable. Prejudice is bad + if you were trans and felt gender dysphoric pain you wouldn't be in here funding the "opinion".
If you're going to go the route of "people have every right to be shitty" that goes both ways. This is how it is clear that your world view is wonky:
You are advocating for everyone to be free to have an opinion. But, who revoked the right of the dev to have an opinion? Nobody. No deplatforming has occurred. We are just acting off of our opinions that *her* opinion is unacceptable and sharing that with others. Since we aren't acting off the assumption that "every opinion is valid" we aren't being cognitively dissonant.
What is the phrase "grow a thicker skin" supposed to accomplish? It's supposed to tell me that my opinion that "not all are opinions are valid/everyone has a right to their opinion" is not valid. You're just trying to boost your bigoted opinion and "everyone has a right to their opinion" is one way of doing that, and conveniently enough, doesn't apply to everyone. I'm sorry not everyone is as naive as you'd like them to be.
Also, you're acting like a 15 year old. Just my opinion!
Yes, because "words" from a person who is not a world leader will definitely lead to genocide and slavery. You seem to really like the "slippery slope" fallacy even though humans have different opinions all the time. And given that, as a gay man, I am funding this apparently "bigoted" developer because I know it'll make people like you angry and I will take away your "moral victory" over destroying someone's financial future.
Everyone has the right to be shitty, such as you have every right to talk shit to me. That's how free speech works, kid.
I advocate everyone to have an opinion, yes, but I do not advocate having financial futures to be in jeopardy because some overly sensitive 13 year olds are angry about someone's opinion on the internet. And your crowd DID try to de-platform in the form of review-bombing, harassing, threatening, and brigading personal social media accounts. You know, for someone who tries to be the "morally righteous," you sure share the same tactics like hate groups do.
And no, no one's opinions are valid. Because they are OPINIONS. They are worthless to everybody but the person making them in the first place. Everyone has the right to say them because they don't affect you, no matter how many crocodile tears you shed.
And my opinion is you being an oversensitive twat that gets all angry over people having opinions different than yours. I am glad I bought this game so I can see how angry people like you get when no matter how much you brigade, you won't tear indie game developers down.

author=Gourd_Claeauthor=veggiebadNot sure what different opinion you're talking about, but if it's "Trans women aren't women" that isn't an opinion it's bigotry.author=kentonaHaving a thick skin and ignoring mean things being said on the internet is a "wonky" worldview?
careful guys, we're dealing with a real capital-g Gamerâ„¢ here
realtalk:
I am not well versed in this situation or in the general LGBT+ community or even 4chan or whatever, but even my old eyes can tell that the language you use and the way you use them, like "normal" and "opinions", is couched in some really wonky assumptions and worldviews.
I didn't know I must act like a raging 15 year old in order to be in the "in" crowd, especially when no one is allowed to voice different opinions.
veggie bad if you had come in here and said "there's not enough evidence to say the dev of this game is transphobic" that'd be 100% valid, but you came in here ready to give the dev money because they got called out for hating trans women which is definitely a wonky worldview.
Hate to break it for you, kid, but "Trans women aren't women" IS an opinion. It's an opinion that the girlfriend has EVERY right to hold. If you can't handle that, then maybe you should grow a thicker skin.
And I support the developer because I, and a lot of gamers, am tired of brigaders trying to ruin people's lives because they're offended of what a NON developer said and are willing to destroy anyone who has the wrong opinion.
Maybe not destroying someone over tweets is a wonky worldview for you because you want to feel morally superior to others, especially when that tactic is what a bully does. lol.
