XEILMACH'S PROFILE

I love drawing since I was a toddler and decided to make RPGs to get practice and challenge. My main work is the "SEKAI" series which takes place in a "modern" modern setting since there's not enough of those around.

Progress Report: Dramatic News...???

If you're drawing more in the future, which you most likely will, I find that drawing a whole bunch of similar elements at the same time really helps - like a whole bunch of foliage or like different furniture - because you get in the momentum of it. However, it may also get repetitive.

Where are all the games you promised? & Disciple Revamped!

Yeah, the new screens look great. And I think many developers have such mindset as you do, especially the more experienced ones.

I've found working in phases really helps out (Phase 1 = script+resource gather/making, Phase 2 = Database, mapping, etc.) You just plan it out according to your time and energy.

Most importantly, allow yourself plenty of time to finish instead of rushing. That way, you won't feel overwhelmed by deadlines.

A moment of your time.

What you said is the thing that separates an average/poor game from an interesting one, which isn't necessarily super fun or good, but evokes excitement.

Not much people have the time and knowledge to do the latter and we get the more mediocre games, but those mediocre games help people make better games.

Bloodsphere is here!

Congratulations on finishing your first game ever. And I do agree that most beta testers are really unreliable. I mean, if you're going to stop or whatever, please tell me so I won't wait on you.

I was wondering how long it took you to make a 20 hour game?

God bless the games...

Hey Strangeluv,

I've admired you and your works ever since I saw those awesome projects back in the days at Gamingw.net

I understand your sentiments completely, and I'm kind of at where you want to be now. I've finished my first game a month back. I decided beforehand to retire game making after a decade once I got a completed game out. I'm a college student now and studying to get a job in the future. I'm still sticking around here to give out help when I see that it's necessary to those with dreams of making their own games.

I just want to wish you the best of luck and maybe continue to see you around - like just being there for other developers.

Final thoughts on an Epic Fail.

I have also taken a similar route to yours about ten years ago with RM2K, and I've only realized my mistakes in my actions now, which is sad, but it helped me got my first completed game out in the end.

Thank you for sharing your experiences. It's helpful for every new aspiring game designers and a recommended read. I hope that not only you have benefited from this endeavor, but others who read this will.

If there was a rep button somewhere around here, I would so give you lots of points
