Description
Hello one and all and welcome to RMN's 9th (official ;p ) birthday! Woo!
Our beloved site is now (over) 9 years old - that's practically ancient in internet years! So let's get together and celebrate in the best way we know how!
Making games! :DDD
A bit over a week or so ago a topic was put up with a bunch of event ideas for the community to pick from. There were a few long-runners who seemed likely to win, a really good idea that Liberty will bestealing appropriating for a future event and a dark horse coming up from behind to steal the win.
There was drama, conflict, confusion - just a normal day on the site, really, but we eventually got there and this is it. Your chosen event.
The event in question is quite simple.
3 hours.
3 maps.
3 characters.
You start over the coming weekend, make your game and at the end, share what you have made with the community! It's easy as 1, 2, 3!
The rules are as follows:
- Event starts at midnight GMT on Friday (please adjust your site time to your timezone so that the event page will tell you the start/end times properly).
- You have 3 hours over the course of the weekend to completely make the game. That means 3 hours of development, folks, not a 3 hour long game!
- You must only have 3 whole characters in the game. This includes Player Characters or NPCs. 3 total. For example: you can have a Warrior, Princess and King; or Warrior, Black Mage, White Mage. That part is up to you.
- You may only have 3 maps total.
- All games must be added to the event page by the end of the event (Sunday Midnight GMT)
- Play games over Monday (which is actually the birthday date oops but let's celebrate then by sharing each others' games! :DDD )

- 3 different monsters only

- 3 of these major challenges: 3 Message Boxes, 3 Pictures, 3 Scripts, 3 Sound Effects, 3 Window Skins, 3 Musical Tunes, 3 Word Title, 3 Battles, 3x3 Map Size (if not RM, 99x99 pixels works too)
(Note that for this challenge to have been met you must have 3 of these things - it won't count if you only have, say, 2 monsters in the game or only 1 item. There MUST be 3.)
There are two achievements up for grabs!
P-P-PARTY ANIMAL for participating and getting into the spirit of the birthday.
SUPER PARTY ANIMAL for completing the Super Challenge.

gonna upload mine in ~hour. been scattered working on it, but i have an hour and 14 minutes left. I don't think i'll need the full time, though. funnily enough, i think doing the SUPER CHALLENGE made it easier and faster to make than if i tried to make something with 5 bosses or w/e. then again, i have a TON of experience making games efficiently and quickly, given... how all my games are contest games except V&V and Kiddos ;V edit: and EMDE!2, but that was a self-imposed 4-hour. since i only have a week before i leave for camp, i might do another one for kicks (i actually thought about making a REBELLIOUS 4+4+4=12 game because of my current makerscore, but eh)
Whew! That was quite a blast. I hope you guys will enjoy SPEED WEED.

Spikes are evidently broken. I kept dying on them randomly. Ragequited about 500 deaths later.
Noticed one possible bug too. You don't need to take the sword to leave the room.
You can take two hits from spikes. The third hit kills you. Use a bandage to reset the variable. There are four available.
Yes, that you can forget the sword is deliberate.
While making my game I got the "item referenced doesn't exist in database" error.
I never had that error before and it was probably caused by some random RPG Maker 2003 bug since it was a new project and I had no events or enemies or anything referencing to any items...
Anyways, you can fix this issue by increasing the number of items in the database (I increased it to 500), even if you don't use those slots.

Originally, I had tried to upload the regular folder because I wanted people to be able to go into the editor and cheat because I made my game so hard. I still have time. I think I'll fix RTP and reupload. In fact, I think I'll add a cheat to the actual game.
Cheats! Right torch in the sword room toggles a switch that makes it so spikes don't kill until you've hit them 27 times (3x3x3). The torch on the left is a bandage fountain. Uploading now.

Alright, finished mine, and just in the nick of 3 hours, with:
3 monsters, 3 skills, 3 items, 3 weapons, 3 armours, 3 musical tunes, a 3 word title and 3x3 maps.
This was a really fun challenge!
EDIT: I just realised I forgot to change one thing; if you want to play the game properly, you might want to open the game in the editor and change the scope for Regular Potion and Mega Potion from One Ally to One Ally (Dead).

EDIT: There's a game breaking bug. Make sure you save before attempting the second battle. There is a (small) chance that you won't level up and make the end battle impossible. Sorry :( this game was made in three hours.

It used to do the same thing with me I have both versions the only way to fix it is to create a new project with the same number of maps and replace them with the original.I still don't know why it crashes on the scanning?
Submitted! It shouldn't require the RTP, but if it errors because of it, go get VX Ace's RTP.

I have to reupload a fix to my game. Found out that one of the skills does not work, so I fixed it, but I need to upload the fix.
Let's hope Liberty will spare me, because it might take awhile before my fix is uploaded!

I'd really like to get rid of LockeZ. His play style is way too unpredictable. He's always like this too. If he ran a country, he'd just kill and imprison people at random until crime stopped.

Yeah, the cheat just might make this a little too easy.
Edit: Okay, now it's 9 times instead of 27 times to hit the spikes. Of course, you have to turn on the cheat.
