MEGAUPLOAD HAS BEEN SHUT DOWN BY THE FEDS

Artists can do that through iTunes already, you set the price and iTunes takes a percentage. Not as good as that, but still way better than the labels.
That's exactly what I thought, which means that MegaBox rivals that too.
I lol'd so hard on the yahoo posting. Apparently, he was also the number 1 player in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. Since he's incarcerated though, he's lost that spot. It definitely sucks as megaupload was my favorite site to use over them all, and since it was the only upload site where my game was located, my beloved rm2k3 is officially lost :(
What was it called? Perhaps SegNin has it.
I never used megaupload, but I always go to megavideo whenever I miss a new episode of Adventure Time. This sucks. Megavideo had the best quality videos and I missed this week's Adventure Time!

I might have it.

Tell me your game's title and I'll check my collection.

It was on here as well, but I deleted it. It was called Dragonsong: Tomb of Aquamenace. But I just entitled it Dragonsong Beta. It you have it, that would be a lifesaver.

You're in luck, because I have it.

Dude you are the man.
I read on MSN.com that people have 2 weeks to get their files out before they lose them. Anyone might want to find another place to store them.

If this is true, I should do a list of game downloads on RMN that point to Megaupload and list them here and download them.

EDIT:
unless only the uploader can download the file...
Perhaps we should start gathering games and make a "game vault" under each engine page.
Make Queen's Court RMN edition (do we really need each game though? Do we have the space/bandwidth for it?)
Hello!

I hope you won't punish me for advertising because of this post... But I am running a file hosting service which is very unlikely to be shut down because it is mostly used by the RPG Maker community: http://share.cherrytree.at

Yes, the features are more limited, but I assure you your files won't get deleted. :-) (unless you upload really illegal stuff there, in this case I will remove it)

Best regards,
Cherry

897.96 GB total, 210.97 GB used

We are probably good (unless every game is 400mb)

It's been suggested numerous times before for RMN to provide hosting space for the rare/obscure RM games since places like MU are unreliable (and it turned out as such in the end ;_;).

I'm sure we as a community can do something to make sure we don't let this mass loss of old games happen again, especially since we now have a real case to make an example of.
The rare/obscure games should get gamepages and proper downloads.
If you want to talk storage for storage's sake, a single 1TB HDD would probably hold every RM game ever put online.

Especially if you remove the RTP files from each game, along with any extraneous files like those accursed thumbs.db ones that Windows adds for some stupid reason.

My collection comes to just over 50 GB after all that crap's removed from the games.

(Mind you, I haven't focused on getting all the RMXP & RMVX games from RRR, HBgames, RpgMakervx.net, etc. yet, though I've gotten some of them. With MU gone, I've probably missed out on quite a few of those. Oh well...)

So, you're probably correct that 1TB would hold them, even including the occasional 500 MB Naruto/Pokemon/Final Fantasy epic crossover demo that will never be finished that 14 year olds advertise on YouTube.
