WHAT ARE YOU THINKING ABOUT RIGHT NOW?

Posts

Son, I'm afraid we're going to have to stone your girlfriend. Yes, yes, it's very sad, I know, but the Bible says that if she's had sex with someone before marriage they both must be stoned. Oh, by the by, you're gonna have to join her in that there circle. No, I don't want to hear complaints about it. Because I'm your father, that's why! Go stand in the circle. Wait... are you wearing lambswool and cotton? Don't you know that's just as bad?! Sorry, son, looks like you've a double-stoning in your future.

Honestly, the people who preach certain things are idiots who don't bother to crack their Bible open and read the damn thing. Even back then they got rid of those rules because they were seen as no longer necessary. I mean, seriously, the only rules that weren't out-right done away with were the Ten Commandments. And they're basic common decency (with a side-helping of not worshipping other Gods and not breaking the Sabbath, which is, okay, fair enough - every religion has their 'thing').

Oh my God, guys, stop it. My heart can't take it.

This otter just met Teddy Bear Santa and is in the process of flipping the fuck out.

Darts? That's some good aim there, pingpong balls I've seen, but darts is a new one. Though I do have to say two things, one that you referred to the young (I'm assuming) woman in question as a lady, with all the chivalry that implies and two, I'm interested in the conversation before that that prompted the telling of the dart shooting lady story.

on an unrelated note, BM, when did your nick change back?

Impossible to say for curtain, but I'd wager it was about here.

I PM'ed him a few days prior but understandably he forgot between all the things he do.

Now I'm unwittingly trolling people who want to PM me. Woops.

By crotch do you guys mean vagina?
I didn't know shooting things with a vagina with enough force to trajectorize a projectile was possible.

Oh yeah? Personally, or on the internet? If it's the former, have you been to Thailand as well? I've seen ping pong balls there too at the same shady ass bar I saw the darts.

Related to the above; the story came up and my friend was asking me some of the weirdest things I've seen overseas in various countries during my time in the Navy. Women shooting things out of their nether regions usually makes the top five. When I bring up that I've been to Thailand, people ask me if 'it's like the Hangover 2', but I can pretty much assure you that the actual Thailand, or at least the shady parts that the USN takes us, is far stranger than anything from the movie.

I promise you that almost any scene from the Hangover 2 is a tame version of what has actually gone down there, some of it I've personally witnessed during the time I was there.

"large-scale successful terrorist attack on American soil using explosive devices"

I always take care to word my sentences very carefully. It was successful. It used an explosive device. It only killed 3 (though it's horrible to say only when three people have died but the that is not a large-scale attack). Learn to read.

It was also the only of it's kind in the last five or so years. All others are local white men (who surprisingly never get called terrorists) and gun-based crimes.

Seriously, the day little John Green rocks up to class with a clock that he made and is arrested for it is the day I won't call it racism. Ahmed was but John wouldn't have (and hasn't been despite building a fucking nuclear generator).
Get this: it was an extra-credit science project. 7 other students brought clocks to school that day, but Ahmed Mohammad is the only one that got arrested for it. And as for my theory about how the arrest went down? It's confirmed! Irving police chief interviewed Chris Hayes and got the truth ripped out of him.

Not to begin another argument, but you have been known to post things BEFORE making sure they are true.
Just for the hell of it, prove it :)
Do you happen to have the hyper link to that story????

ALSO: thank you one and all for the cute animals. My favorites are those on UTube, the funny cat or kittins.

As for Ms. Liberty, I may get back to you about how horrible the life of that young boy will be....especially since he has been smiling all over the news, is going to take his project to the White House and meet the Pres. of the U.S.
OMG, what a rotten life he will have......wish my life was as bad :) hahahaha

Personally, and yes indeed in Thailand. It must have been a different bar though, because I would have stayed for the darts xD.

I've never seen the Hangover movies, but I have been to shady bars in a few countries, so I can relate, and I thought it might be one of those 'what's the weirdest thing you ever...' type conversations.

Edit: Mirak how do you think babies come into the world? The pelvic floor muscles are very strong, they have to be.

double edit: Hey Tau, hope you are feeling better!
Yes, because I'm sure he wanted to get singled out and harrassed by grown people. That he is now happy over being shown to be innocent DOES NOT AND NEVER WILL make up for the fact that he was treated the way he was. Hell, the fact that he's now been shot to 15-minutes of stardom may mess him up mentally just as much as what happened before authority figures apologised for the WRONG THAT WAS DONE.

Because we all know that being treated nicely after a terrifying and horrible experience makes it all better.

Can you see the sarcasm oozing off the page there? I hope you can feel it because your arguments are, in atwo words: fucking moronic.

The Australian government apologised and shook hands to happy-looking Aboriginals after they apologised for stealing a whole generation of their children but that doesn't make it fucking right, does it? It doesn't fix the trauma that was caused and never will. Nor will getting a handshake from the President and some pats on the back automatically remove the feelings of worthlessness and mental scarring that was caused by being the victim of a racial attack.

A bandaid won't fix a 6-inch cut, even if it stems some of the blood. A Presidential handshake won't stop the kid from feeling like shit the next time he sees a cop, or remove the fear of the authority figures he now probably has. Hell, he can't even trust those who he's known for years, who are supposed to protect him and his rights, because they're the ones who did it to him.

Yes, I'm sure being reminded day after day about why he's lauded helps with his fears.
I'm sure Malala doesn't have mental scarring over being shot despite now being safe and sound and beloved by the world.
I'm sure Yeomni Park won't suffer from horrible nightmares for the rest of her life just because she's also safe and loved by the world.

As though scars don't stay despite good things happening after the fact. For years. For whole lives. I'm sure he's perfectly A-OKAY with what was done to him now he's being splashed all over the media, constantly reminded of what was done and having it shared with the world. As if what was done wasn't bad enough.

You're old enough to know damn well better.

You sound jealous.

I wouldn't envy the little lad, that's too much attention for anyone to get in a day. Now the whole country is going to be split among people who love him and people who hate him, and that's horrible. At least only three or four people in this country know me as a butthole and I'd rather it stay that way but if TAFE has any lucrative stakes I know it definitely wont.
Priscilla, Queen of the Desert isn't that well known since it's an Aussie movie, BM. Keep that in mind - while we all know it, not many outside our shores would. (Great movie~<3 )

Nhubi is Australian, so I figured that's where she got it from, though I actually didn't know that. I thought it took off in the states like Crocodile Dundee did.

Silly me!

Also watching Dundee instead of just judging it as how Americans see us, it's actually horrifyingly accurate in it's portrayal, not all of us are that excommunicated from mainland society but still.

It's 2real5me.

I've been on several different camps during my life, and outside of the croc Wrestling, I can pretty much recount something happening on one of them that correlates to the movie.

The only really ridiculous thing was the kangaroo with the gun being held by the guy. Though it was funny enough to get a pass by pure essence of absurdity. And after a dingo ate the baby story nothing is too stupid for me.

She was proven innocent, but too little too late.

Now we're sort of forced to laugh it off so we don't have to face that we put someone in the slammer for 25 years for doing nothing.
Said lady, Lindsey Chamberlain, actually babysat me as a kid, so you'll understand why I consider what happened to her as a horrible injustice. They demonified her with no proof, based on how she acted on television - which was by going numb, a completely normal way to react to the death of someone. The shit she and her family went through was ridiculous and it destroyed them in many ways. People now joke about 'A dingo stole my baby!' but it was a horrible experience for a young mother to have to go through.

Not only to have her baby disappear, then to have her body found, then be accused of the death, then be found guilty of it when you knew you were innocent, but also having your personal life poked at, the religion you were a part of being lied about (they called it a cult and said you had to kill a baby in order to join. As a Sevvie, I can tell you now - nothing of the sort is required to join. Just show up at church some time and we're happy to have you along.) and after all that finally having the proof you didn't kill your child come to light but still be considered by some as a killer.

I can't imagine how horrific it feels to know that the greatest loss of your life is joked about by strangers. Drives me a bit crazy when people joke about it like it's just soooo hilarious.

@Liberty, it sounds like you may have had something very bad happen to you when you were younger and for that I can understand your feelings about this incident.
When I was about 12yrs old, and living in the city, I was having fun climbing up the side of a building. Walking over a metal awning, leaping to a metal light post and sliding down like a fireman :) An unmarked car with two detectives stopped, grabbed me off the building and drove me home to my mother who chewed me up one side and down the other. NO, it did not cause me one bit of harm. When I'm talking with others about funny things that happened in my youth, we all have a laugh over that.
As I watched the interview of the Police chief from pianotm, I was able to see what happened. Each school in Texas has two security police on duty. They sat him down and talked with him. Yes, he was cuffed. That was proceedure in a case like that but still, maybe a little harsh. That proceedure may now be revised.
Maybe you and a few other might try to think a little more tolarently about this kind of thing in the future. The cops did not beat him, did not throw him to the ground. Yes, they did cuff him. But that was the worst thing they did that may have upset him.
He's fine and will be for the rest of his life. He already is getting "splash in the media" so will probably have a great future. He's meeting the President, has been contacted by the owner of Face Book and so will probably we a very wealthy man in the futher.
His story is nothing like the people of your country who had such terrible things happen to them. They are totally two different kinds of things and should not be pointed out as being similar.

@BM, thank you for pointing out "At least only three or four people in this country know me as a butthole and I'd rather it stay that way but if TAFE has any lucrative stakes I know it definitely wont."
I do agree with your estimation of your self. I'm sure you love my agreement.
Thank you for also pointing out that I'm partially color blind. The blue was light in shade, not dark blue as in my emails.
As I said, pianotm has posted things in the past that were not correct and could cause people to think a terrible injustice took place.
As for the other 7 students who brought clocks to school and nothing happened.....the were 7 students in other schools across the country and at different times. That article was meant to stir up trouble and it did.
As for the interview of the Police chief, as usual the media tried to show the cops as monsters. He layed out what happened. Told the media person trying to stir up trouble and get more viewers some things may need to be changed changed but overall, they did their job trying to protect the students and teachers.
In fact in the interview, Ahmed said he thought he was taken into the interview for his race "because of something one of the cops said". The chief told the media that actually what the cop said was close to what Ahmad said and if you listen closely you might also understand that Ahmad may have made a mistake.
If Ahmad can make a mistake, if I can make mistakes, he EVERYONE on this site can make mistakes.........then maybe the cops can be given a little more understanding if they make a mistake.
Again, thank you BM for telling me we agree on your "buttholeness".
Over and out.....
@Linkis: Yes, because I can empathise with kids who have horrible things happen to them means I MUST have had terrible things happen to me as a kid too. Don't presume you know anything about a person just like that. You don't. My childhood was a bit hectic at times but it was a good childhood filled with a lot of laughter. I just have the ability to see cause and effect for what it is.

Except they are the same fucking thing on the base level. You're obviously blinded by whatever faith you have in the authority figures and have no ability to empathise with the kid, so I'm just going to stop addressing you. Gotta know when people just ain't gonna listen/care/give two shits after all. Believe what you want but don't think for a second that it wasn't racism-driven.
