post=213679Driving lessons are hella expensive here (don't schools in the US teach you how to drive? that's how it is in teen movies anyway), and often don't pay off (I am a perfect example of this ;_;). I don't blame him at the moment but one should really learn how to drive when financially feasible.post=213514that's fucking retarded
Nope, not planning on learning to drive. But the way things are going I'll probably end up getting one just for ID. Seems to be cheaper than a Passport renewal at least.
its one thing to decide not to drive and go with cheaper alternatives
but stonewalling yourself against learning an essential skill in the modern world is nothing short of stupid
what are you going to do when/if an emergency comes up, like your wife going into labor, or you being the only one fit to drive if your friends are drunk, or you have to run someone to the hospital, or you have to get something in a hurry
'lol catch the bus'
im not downing you or anyone else for deciding not to drive/own a car in favor of cheaper transportation. but denying yourself out of LEARNING to drive is juvenile
The longer you wait to get your license, the less likely you will ever get it. It's best to keep at it while the knowledge is still fresh. I know a wide range of people without licenses (people with children, adults, teens, elderly) and they are extremely limited in what they can do, and depend greatly on others for their transportation.
plus, nobody likes the guy who is always asking "hey, can I have a ride?" to his friends. And you waste so much time, waiting for the bus, planning trips to coincide with your driver's schedule, and you're hooped in emergencies.
It's really just a part of growing up these days, quite frankly.

My friend got caught drinking at the football game and I was too busy cuddling with this one boy who's in my gym class in the stands (he called me a teddy bear and I called him a puppy dog :3) to keep an eye on him. He got a 5 day suspension and $50 ticket, then after his dad drove him back to their house he snuck out and rode his bike all the way from his house to mine, which is across town, and now at 2 AM he's riding back. So everyone hanging out in my basement got to hear his story then critically judge him. Before he left he said "Sorry, I don't wanna be a burden," and I didn't know what to say back. This is the same kid who last night in his driveway sat in my car refusing to leave when I just wanted to go home deliberating over whether he should send one text message or another to a girl because one sounded like he might be flirting with her even though he's not. He kinda can't function socially. I feel bad but I've done all I can for him sans being the miracle worker.
Collin hung out with us again. He talked more and gave me a hug when he left. Wasn't feeling the love in it though. His hands did not settle on my back.

I will be killed for this but:

This boy is not a respectable homosexual. He does not understand that you are not a bear.
Also, the way you phrased this makes me want to throw up a little. :<
Cuz it's written like a guy rushing to tell a story? Yaya that was the intended voice. I spose it didn't work out to well. But y'all are asses regardless.
aww is snoogie wookums upsetty-wetty? poor bitsy pookums

Coding AIs is nearly as fun as teaching them! I've been working on a bot (actually three slightly different ones) that use an implementation of meghal tokenization to form sentences and the Princeton Wordnet to find parts of speech and synonyms and such.

I watched the first episode of "Fighting Foodons" from FoxKids last night, to give myself a bit of a nostalgia blast to the face.
I was not prepared for the hurricane of food-related puns. I was laughing and shaking my head at least half the time.
EDIT: also, there was this line in episode three: "I learned a very valuable lesson this morning: Never try to swat a fly using a straight razor! I lopped off the very essence of my being!"
