Fallen-Griever is pretty much spot on. Megan Fox might be a terrible actor, but her character had a little bit more toughness than Rosie Huntington-Whiteley's "Carly".

I'm wondering how such a generic-looking VX gam received over $5000 in donations. Probably marketing toward people who haven't heard of RM, I guess...

That game doesn't look half bad. Still...This made me feel almost physically nauseous. There is literally no justice in the world, man. No correlation whatsoever between any amateur game's quality and the amount of funding it receives. All that matters is how good you are at marketing, and going to kickstarter.com was a brilliant fucking choice.
I mean, that looks better than Aveyond and Deadly Sin and Laxius Power and whatever, but still...there are an arbitrarily high number of free games that look even better.
And the messed up thing is he collected all that money without even finishing that game.

Did you see the red monster with warts in the video? IIRC, that monster was made by someone else on RRR a couple years ago. Dunno if that person even allowed other people to use it. (Personally, I don't want to go back to that site and find out, heh)

There's a whole lot of money to be had in profiting off of others' ignorance, I guess. Poor donators...
The dev recently said that he was going to use custom graphics now. However, all the mostly-unedited RTP placeholders just...doesn't make a good impression on those experienced with the engine. I totally agree with you about the better-looking free games. Too bad the devs of those games don't receive thousands of dollars for their custom character art and cool things like that. :/
