Nah, it's just a copy and paste from a funny statement in another forum, I didn't write that.

I see...

Current Thought: Yay, it was accepted! :D I have to do the extra final, final check-up on it and then submit the game itself to the website. <3 Screenies are up, though. You certainly won't be inspired, but I do need some pointers on improvement, and that's why I'll put my hilariously crappy game up amongst such... nice reviewers... xD

My sig is also a hillarious rant that mog posted.

Also, I'm wondering about asa and suzu since you are my age and have kid(s) and hence responsibilities. Which of you guys works? What do you do? Do you have computers? You both seem to (simultaneously) post on the forums all day long, even during work hours and on weekdays although maybe there is a timezone confusion here. Let me know if I'm getitng to personal I'm not trying to be offensive I'm just amazed that you both manage to maintain such a high level of activity with a child in your home!

I'm 22, and Asa's... probably not wanting me to discuss too much. I am a stay-at-home mommy, and I get Anna involved in whatever I'm doing. She loves computers! I have her schedule - bedtime, wakeup time, even eat time. When she naps, I get to program a bit.
You may also notice we're seldom on at the same time, Max, and I am by far the more active one on the forum and the only one on IRC.

Right now we're living off money we scrimped up over the years. We make do. I'm also on sabbatical right now. I work as an English teacher in Germany.

Sometimes, you just want enjoy life for a year or so.

@Asalieri:

:o

I am also 22 and what you just said, asalieri...

That makes NO SENSE. Trust me I'm considering a career in education, I strongly considered teaching ESL in Japan but ultimately decided against it so I mean...unless England/europe is just astonishingly different than America, you can't be a full-fledged teacher, let alone ON SABBATICAL, by the age of 22. At least not in America. In America to be a teacher you need a four year degree, a BA, and then additional education certification, plus another year or two of school to get certified, and even then you need to TA/substitute teach/do little teaching gigs until you can bet back to get your Masters and maybe then, then, when you're tenured and have your Masters, THEN you can take a sabbatical!

Also, do english teachers in germany really make enough money, solo, to support a family? This is something I genuinely know nothing about.

UNLESS YOU GUYS ARE OLD MONEY OR SOMETHING. I guess that would be a different story entirely!

All I'm saying is, I'm someone living in the states with (unless British people start college (you may call it 'university') sooner than 18!) at least as much education as you, and I'm barely going to be making enough to support myself, LET ALONE a family. So I dunno...culture shock!?

JOB QUEST:
But that is not what I'm thinking about. This is what I'm thinking about:

I just got a job interview! Why don't I feel more happy about it? Well, because 10+ people are interviewing for one job AND because I need to look my best (groan haircut shave grumble) AND because, most importantly, the jobs in the city (New York City). Commuting by train probably costs around 24 bucks a day minimum for round trip Metro North and if I'm only going to be making eighty bucks (min.) to two hundred (max.) a week...and working three days a week...I'm spending more than I'm making to get there. D'oh! I really, really hope that I'm miscalculating here, because this is the only bite I've gotten on any of my million billion resumes that are out

EDIT: Shitsickles. Upon reviewing the costs of the commute, this job just doesn't pay enough to cover my travel expenses. Getting into (the ass end of) Brooklyn would cost between $27 and $34 bucks a day and the job which is 10-20 hours a week...let's assume that it's five hours a day, three days a week. Getting paid 8.00 an hour x 5 hours is forty bucks - an average of $30 bucks for the commute. That means I'm only making ~$10 dollars a day, thirty a week, which is fucking joke. Plus, it's a four hour commute, two hours each way.

Man I have fucking STUDENT LOANS. Why do I have to deal with this shit? This is the ONLY job that's gotten back to me and it is totally nonfeasible.
How the heck are you only making 80 bucks a week for a job in NYC? I guess that is a typo? You can't survive off that.

Also, from my understanding, Asa is an American living in Germany.

1. It's a part-time job not a typo.
2. Yes, I thought about it and there is no way I can feasibly do this job, it does not pay enough to cover my travel expenses.

I am thinking it is cool that we have a married couple on the site.
A cool name for my game. I can't think of one.

Kars is correct, we're both American. We moved over here for his job.

Oh, he's 30? I could have sworn he said he was 22.

Anyway, that makes more sense now.

how come all women like older men so much
huh. Coulda sworn I told... oh wait, only IRC people knew I was 30.

My bad. Yeah, my wife is 8 years younger than me. You're as surprised as I was, Max!

When you're done with them, they return later in a far more insidious form.

My health. It sucks. Having some kinds of mega crohns flareup. By the way, anyone whose googling of crohns disease has convinced them that it's just like IBS with a different name should be fucking shot. It's a lot more like cancer than irritable bowel syndrome, at least in my case.

My intestines have been like exploding with pain since friday night and nothing I can do- taking antispasmodics, being extra-regular with my medicine, FASTING which I have since Friday- is doing anything. Today's newest development is a massive fever; I'm burning up and I have the chills causing me to feel extremely cold and weak.

All this is very worrisome considering that one of the way crohns can kill you is by causing your scarred, inflamed intestines to rupture, poisoning your body with your own wastes which is theoretically what this fever could be a sign of (infection?). Any sane person would be in the hospital right now but I know the only thing they can do that they haven't done already is cut me open to remove the effected part of the intestine (the terminal ileum) and I'm not exactly cool with having MAJOR SURGERY AT 22. Of course, I don't want to die of toxic megacolon (real name for a real complication, look it up) at 22 either. Since I've had a few episodes like this before (only one this long) and they generlaly go away on their own, tomorrow will be the third and maybe last day of me wishing this would just go away.
Yikes. That sucks, dude! I offer you the best of luck in dealing with that with the best outcome possible.
