Being very bored at night and looking at a list of all recorded Manias. Apparently, it is possible for someone to be manically compelled to lie to and confuse others.
Kinda cool, I'm trying to write something that I think fits the word a bit, since I'm bored anyway xD

author=CAVE_DOG_IS_BACKIf you put it like that, I'm suffering from a pretty severe case of Mythomania xDauthor=PlatinumAshesWHEN'S THE NEXT MAFIA GAME!!! WHEN IS IT!!! AAAAAAA!

EDIT: Looking into the phenomena more, because I am obsessed with studying psychology, the Mania seems to be interdivided into two seperate compulsions.
The first is a driven by a certain type of Narcism, where one wants to feel superior to ones victims by showing off his ability to decieve. This could be what drives people to play games like Mafia.
The second is one I came across in an example I google'd my way into. It was a person talking about a childhood freind of his who would repeatedly and obsesively tell stories about things you could do in the LoZ games that were completely incorrect. This strikes me because it's something very familliar, especially in childhood. I had at least one freind who obsessively would tell stories about things that happened to him (mostly in video games), friend he had- non-existand and places and such that didn't actually exist. It became less as we both grew up, but he couldn't keep himself from doing it every once in a while, even when it was obvious, even when he seemed slightly ashamed of it. Maybe this was a form of self-trickery, him using people around him to force himself to believe his stories, or maybe it's just a more childish version of the first compulsion, I'm not sure, I'm going to look more stuff up.
... Look at me typing walls of text on weird overly deep stuff, I should really go to sleep xD
I only used to do that when I wanted to be important - I don't usually do it anymore, but every once in a while I bullcrap about some random thing. The first reason is a pretty solid reason for why playing mafia is fun - especially if you're scum.

Yes, it would explain why people generally enjoy being scum more than being town.
Not to make what was previously said seem less deep or important..... but at the moment I'm thinking of two great ps1 games. The first is Suikoden II The second is Alundra. Both are very fun...maybe I should replay them.....
I remembered Alundra from when I played it when it came out. When I played it again about a year ago, it didn't seem as good. It's not bad, but certainly not as good as I remembered it. Like many other old games, sigh
Great ps1 games. The thing (I believe) that makes us think games have lost quality is the fact we have played them so much over the years that we know them inside and out. Knowing the story and every little secret just isn't as appealing as not knowing what is to come, and exploring all the possibilities.
Never played Suikoden II (or any Suikoden game, for that matter) nor Alundra.
I wouldn't mind trying a Suikoden game out, but I've never been a big "Strategy / RPG" sort of guy (with exceptions to "Ogre Battle" & "Shining Force 2")
That's just the booze talking.
YOU KNOW YOU LOVVVVVVVVEEEEEE US!!! :D

I got promoted right to Silver II from Silver IV in League of Legends and honestly that makes me far happier than it probably should xD
Suikoden 2 happens to be the only Suikoden I've ever played. Figuring out how to recruit certain characters was a ton of fun. Never played Alundra though.
When I feel like thinking about that, I always think about the jobs I would never do and work my way to possible jobs. For example, I'd never be a daredevil a clown or a teacher.
It helps me feel a lot less overwhelmed by my future in general.

I hate to say it but what I thought might be my ideal job turned out to be a "I can't wait till this is over" type of thing. Then again, that might be one of the side-effects of working at a start-up...
I can't believe how hard it is to find a decent studio flat in London. A couple days ago I went to view what ended up basically being a bed with a toilet attached. I hate this city sometimes.
