You know, I've always thought of Steam Greenlight as this big, scary thing where you really have to impress an audience to get a game sold onto the store page, but I guess that's not the case?
By the way, Kentona and TehGuy have reminded me with their posts. I've got a free copy of VX Ace for anybody who wants it.

I'm thinking about how Death Parade is such a depressing anime, and then the opening is super lighthearted (not to mention absurdly addictive!). It's like a metaphor for life, it's fun at some moments, and then everything gets dark. I really hope they make a season 2.

Tonight I sleep in my own room. Tomorrow (or the day after), I may have my computer in there. While my vacation in the living room has been a cool and exciting one, it's time for me to go back home.

I love my brother, I really really do but when I have to argue with him about whether or not he's allowed to rip game graphics and call them his own because "I downloaded them to the computer so they're my files and I don't believe in Copyright because the Bible never had it and code is just maths where 1+1 =2" I just want to, IDK, strangle the fucker.

I'd really like to get rid of LockeZ. His play style is way too unpredictable. He's always like this too. If he ran a country, he'd just kill and imprison people at random until crime stopped.

I approve of people ripping graphics, but at least I can explain my reasoning better than "I don't believe in copyright because I don't believe in copyright." And I don't trick myself into thinking the other person wouldn't mind. I'm just an asshole who doesn't care if they mind, as long as the end result is more games.
Game developers are useful tools for making games. They're important, and valuable, and you should take care of them. But the reason they're worthwhile is because they create games. If a game designer is trying to stop other people from making games, for example because he or she thinks that his or her copyright ownership is more important than other people's games, then that game designers no longer has value and should be removed from the community and ignored. You can't forbid the creation of a game because it would offend a game designer. That's like forbidding the creation of a painting because it would damage your paintbrush.

When my dad was a teenager, he was hired to do the part of John Lennon for a Beatles cover album. The studio got sued, but got off of the infringement charges because nobody could prove it wasn't the Beatles singing in the cover albums (They still couldn't sell the albums anymore and had pay royalties).

Also, my PC went into the abyssal depths for a moment shortly after I tried to get Gothic II to start on steam. Silly me, buying it again on steam ..
Refund requested, got through the blue screen while booting once and could restore settings. Whew.

While I think that the current state of copyright law is horrifically, insanely out of date and badly put together/managed, I think we need to take that out of the picture when talking about stolen music, graphics, or IPs themselves, because the issue is largely one of morality and respect to your fellow creators.
I'm not going to try and touch on the policies used on this site, because we all know that I don't agree with the "Robin Hood" stance the rules here use, and I know I'm not gonna up and change your mind or anything, BUT
I think it's harmful to consider it okay to steal from certain or all people in the name of "creating more games", especially when you consider how many artists in the industry can't find work, how much free to use content is out there, etc. You're only hurting the industry by doing so, and I would go as far as to say that the industry doesn't need more games cobbled together with stolen material, it needs more original ideas and the sharing thereof.
