WHAT ARE YOU THINKING ABOUT RIGHT NOW?

I'm talking about the regular size packets. Tesco for a limited amount of time did these huge-ass bags of mini eggs, a 'family pack' it was called, sod that. I had the whole bag to myself.

I'm thinking about how Fourier transforms can go fuck themselves.
...
Most aren't that bad, but the Fourier transform of e^(-x^2/2s^2) in particular can go fuck itself.

I mean, it kind of makes sense since Gameboy was such a smash hit when it came out and surely getting better games on-the-go is just going to sell that much better, right?
Of course, those games would've had to have been made with the default controls being intuitive to the platform like old Gameboy games, but- wait a second...

We may have a problem here.

I still have yet to see a mobile game with any decent input detection. Maybe somewhere down the line...
By the way, the symphony suite of Dragon Quest 2 is beautiful.

I've yet to see a mobile game that's decent at all, in any way. Ports of stuff originally not on mobile don't count.
Seriously though who in the honest fuck is gonna play FF9 on a goddamn iPhone

Japan's mobile market is huge. Like, if you though the mobile boom was big in the west it doesn't hold a candle to how it is there. From what I understand, consoles are nearing their demise in Japan and mobile ports actually sell decently well.
FF9 isn't something I'd want to play on the go. I have like a ritual and set up when I start a fresh game and would never want to play it on my phone.
I've actually never have played games on my phone and don't see the point, as I mainly use it for its intended purpose and getting on sites like this or other communities.
Or porn.

Man, that sucks.

I guess that explains why the guy from the Da Vinci Code was constantly whipping himself.
But you know what's more interesting than a function itself? The derivation of it.

I just read the notice that ff9 was released for mobile bullshit while there being no steam release yet.
It's not that i'm old, because i'm not, but i can't have fun with cellphone games.
The gimmicky, 3 second games i can sort of digest, like angry birds, fruit ninja, or flappy bird, games that you pick up and play a few seconds while you poop and then discard and forget about for seven million years until the need to poop again arises.
When the games start being more complex i flip out, because playing games that require various command inputs with a touch screen must be the most unintuitive, unresponsive, and bullshitty way of playing games ever. Don't even get me started on games that require multiple touch support, holy shit.
I was watching a youtube recording of the autopsies you can perform in Eternal Darkness for the gamecube and it reminded me about that one scene in the game where you're in the monster-free HUB level and enter an apparently empty bathroom only to get one of the most awful jump scares a 12 year old can experience.

i love mobile gaming. it's different from traditional gaming. that's okay.
we have shovelware on consoles and pc too. that sucks, but it's just part of most industries. it's more egregious because unlike a cheap watch or store-brand macaroni, there's no real utility to it... but then again, if everything was "good indie" and "AAA"... well maybe there wouldn't be a downside. eh.
there are many puzzle games, light rpgs, and just plain small games that only really work on a phone. i'm not gonna play Tower of Saviors or MinDungeon on my laptop, but I'll definitely do that during downtime at work (which I have a lot of at unexpected times, given the nature of my job) or during transportation. doing picross on newgrounds is something i'd do in middle school, but i'm an adult now. i can do that on my phone, and use my limited free time at home to play deeper games.
i 110% think that console, pc and mobile markets can healthily coexist, and shitting on mobile games is pointless. for every few shit games, there's something appealing and ingenious that makes the most of the medium, better than a controller or mouse could do.
porting ugly versions of ff5? yeah, that shit stinks. playing a relaxing puzzle game or beating my high score on temple run? i don't have a problem with that, and it's pretty snobby to go "hon hon hon that's not ~real~ gaming, kids these days are bad at taste hon hon"

The mobile market got hit by the gold rush mentality because it was new and a huge, huge market. That mentality has slowed down but hasn't died yet, and it's hardly unique to mobile. I mean, take a look at Steam nowadays - the store is still curated, but now there are a lot of games that are just rushed or low-quality money grabs, clones of minecraft, lazy eroge sims. I think mobile stores will eventually calm down and become a good mix of well-made games for every type of player. I hope Steam does too, hah.

Well aren't you just the cutest little contrarian; only we weren't saying "hon hon hon mobile? git gud scrub". We were saying that the controls are non-intuitive when the controls are also the screen. It'd be like playing on a Game Gear with your cousin's hands flopping all over the place in front of your eyes.
Let's not forget that tapping a screen will never be as precise as pressing a button. You must realize this. A very real and tangible protrusion that is designated to a single task at all times will always be preferable to a display that disappears and reappears whether or not it's currently in use and demands that the device actually be capable of being able to detect even a slight swipe (something my mother's phone/GPS is downright awful at). 'Sorry, won't be making it in today; my phone can't tell that I'm feverishly smashing the screen with my finger to type out 20123 New Fairview Drive. *shrug*'
and here I am playing and enjoying KOTOR on my phone.

You're going to Hawaii so I can't say I feel too bad for you.
