when did you know?
Pretty much exactly when I posted that. I was looking at your profile for whatever reason. User names are in all-caps on profile-pages, and in a different font.

Welp, my laptop's dead. I'm positive it's a hardware failure, most likely in the sound card, but there is no way I could fix that.
Was the processor on a BGA?

XD is basically laughing quite hard, emoticon-wise.
I know that. :P
What I didn't know is whether she thought something about my post was funny or something else.

Nothing reveals Humanity so well as the games it plays. A game of betrayal, where the most suspicious person is brutally murdered? How savage.

I did open the laptop up once, but I'm not sure. Why would this be relevant though?

The sound card of my old HP desktop PC died, and the computer still worked just fine (outside of lacking audio).
A common problem with ball grid arrays is that they end up causing issues where the CPU (and GPU, depending on what you're using) will eventually detach itself from the motherboard (the solder joints crack and break from heat). Usually when that happens, your system is done for unless you get the processor reballed with lead-based solder.
This plagues generally anything that has its processors on these atrocious abominations, though PC's and especially game consoles will have their solder joints break much sooner. The most infamous example happened with the Xbox 360.
Unless the sound card somehow damaged the motherboard, this is the most likely cause of your laptop's demise.

LockeZ
I'd really like to get rid of LockeZ. His play style is way too unpredictable. He's always like this too. If he ran a country, he'd just kill and imprison people at random until crime stopped.

Based on what I've heard about Australia, if you get bitten by a small creature and don't know what it was, you should write your will immediately.

While this is all technically true, unless your laptop is an Xbox 360 with a folding monitor taped onto the top of it, I can basically guarantee this isn't what happened.
