WHAT ARE YOU THINKING ABOUT RIGHT NOW?

Oh wait, we're done with the conversation aren't we?
Sowwy!
Sowwy!
and, whoops, missed Mirak's post! with regards to realtalk stuff, I feel like there needs to be some give and take there -- some conversations naturally flow into discussion of social issues, and other times people want to talk about something with a broader clientele than the regulars in the realtalk channel (who largely stick around there due to a strong active interest in these subjects, which can make discussion within the channel seem opaque to people less experienced in those topics). I'm sorry to hear it has that effect on you, though; I'll try to do better.

I got an excuse to post Nicki Minaj's verse from Monster and quote Moby Dick to people -- without falling into unconvincing 'you're all too serious'-style patterns, I can say I'm having a pretty good time right now.
That's good, reading the comments is quite funny despite the negativity. Was the "you're all too serious" a rib poke towards me?
author=Corfaisusauthor=KloeWhat if you hurt the stairs, or what if the stairs are sorry that they tripped you?
I SHALL GET MY REVENGE STAIRS. MARK MY WORDS! >:D
Sorry I made you sad.
But I got a bloody knee and a sore face but the stair wasn't effected... ;w;
Though if you are sorry Stairs, its okay, I know you didn't mean it!

author=harmonicAgain, shitty metrics.
I assure you all of those numbers are accurate.
Why wouldn't I hate RMN? (Not "the community". RMN specifically.)I dunno man, you keep coming back when there's literally nothing left for you here, the way you're making it sounds.
I'm attacked no matter what I do or say and that hatred is personal and biased. It happens to others here as well. That doesn't mean everyone here acts like that, just the extremely vocal and obsessed group that just needs to be part of the "YEAH, WHAT HE SAID" crew.
We both know you're no martyr here; You've plenty of shit back in the day AND now, and show no sign of feeling bad about it, and I'm not talking mere political positions here.
The group of small-minded bullies who find enjoyment in ganging up on the scapegoat du jour. I have expressed political opinions in the past that don't jive with the seemingly monolithic opinions here, which doesn't help, and apparently prompts people to find bigotry in my games that simply doesn't exist.
Small? Minded? While I may have my differences with some of the people that have gone after you as well, I can assure you that small mindedness is not a common thing among those who have come to look down upon you. Far from it even. I will say though that I have no idea about any bigotry in your games, and Id even be willing to look into those for myself and be able to confirm or deny such accusations for myself with evidence, but alas, I can already tell it probably won't go well. Why? I think you know where this train of thought is going, so until I'm given evidence to prove otherwise, I can do nothing there.
People are asking me to brag about "the amount of wealth" it has brought me.
Number of installs" is a shitty metric. I'd rather hear you brag about the wealth its brought you.I don't recall asking.
Obviously, I'm not going to share that, no one would share that. That's personal. I shared installs because that's public information.
RPGMaker has made me $0. Gamedev in general has made me $0. You wanna know something? I'm ok with that, but I won't go into detail as to why.
It's not about money. But it is about installs?
It's extremely fun and fulfillingAnd yet you come here still, somewhere that more or less rejects you. If you truly feel that way about it, what the hell drives you to come back here even to this day?!
to continue to push the boundaries of what RPGMaker is capable of,The moment RM had allowed for coding kinda killed the boundaries thing. Obviously there are limits even in modern engines, but by that point, you're probably already questioning if RPGMaker is even the tool for the job.
and continue my design goal of mixing RPG nostalgia with modern quality of life design decisions. We've developed exclusive systems, especially in our latest game, that have received comments to the effect of "even though it's RPGMaker, it's actually polished and good". That's what it's about. The idea though in this case is to make them question it like mad is it was even made with rpgmaker though, to be fair.
Why don't you stop comparing? Comparing makes you unhappy.Compare to what? Who would want to be compared to you? I sure wouldn't.
That RMN seems to have "agreed" that my games just outright automatically suck - you can criticize certain features, sure. But objectively speaking, saying that they categorically and universally suck, just because they're made by me, is just silly. That's not criticism, that's petty insults. Not only to me, but the fantastic people who work with me.No, they cant even do that without you going on a tirade about it. At least in these parts. Can't speak for how you are on steam, and I'd hope it'd be better over there, but I won't hold my breath.
author=unityI do love the 50 shades reference here, even if it isn't perfect for this situation.
You're yet another helpful example of "popular" and "quality" failing to overlap. You're the 50 Shades of Grey of RPG Maker. The fact that you can't take criticism, constantly sing your own praise and treat others like garbage makes it impossible to "just be happy for you."
I don't "constantly sing my praises."Hyperbole.
Come on, at least put some truth in this gangbang.Denial.
I'm simply responding to the massive slew of comment claiming everything I create is garbage.Facepalm.
@Zeigfried_McBacon I don't mean to come across as dismissive but the mudslinging has kinda died down for the time being. Maybe it's best to leave it for another day?
I'm doubling up on Star's opinion, Zeig.
Also, breaking a person's entire post into a dozen bite-size snippets removed from context is a tacky way to debate/discuss/disparage.

I just don't think it's worth it tbh
I can't begrudge anyone their success, though there are definitely some people I'd like to surpass

Thank you, good sir, but sadly, I just haven't taken the time to fix the glitch fest that game is.
