I didn't know that user's history, so that changes a lot of things. Yikes, I missed some drama it looks like.

You know, I was just listening to the radio, and Bruno Mars' '24k Magic' came on. The opening Vocoder just got me really into it, so I looked it up on youtube.

It's a nice music video, but another hobby of mine is looking at things like that and trying to think behind the scenes.

What possesses a man to make a giant music video about how amazing he is? 'Look at this amazing life! It's a neverending party! This, this is my life!'

It's like the modern equivalent of Gilgamesh. It's like hiring a boy to shout at a street corner at how good you are at banging ladies.

Meanwhile, I think if you slipped him sans-entourage into a shitty nightclub on your local street he'd probably go unrecognized and mostly ignored.

I mean, just looking at every individual shot - like the ones where he's got his 'bros' around him, like goldfish poop, fawning over him. I can't help but imagine how many times they had to reshoot each one "No wait, James, you need to look and smile at Bruno more." "Marco, your hands, just... just stick to the routine." "Okay, girls, just.. no, just move your buts to the left a bit. Then to the right a bit. Okay, keep doing that, over and over. aaaaand... scene. Okay."

Who are those other guys anyway? Do they do something? Are they like part of his band or are they just there to say, "OMG so Playa..." to him every once in a while?

Sorry if that came across as bitter - it's not. I think I just tend to overanalyze and wonder too much about things that must have happened. I just wish I could have been there for the behind the scenes and see the actual goofy happenings.

Actually - no - I think I now prefer to imagine that his entourage is like un-turn-offable. Like, Bruno wakes up and when he openes his bedroom door, his entourage is there, waiting, already dressed, mid dance routine. He's walking around, doing his day to day thing - they're right behind him, moving to the beat of some guy in the back with a stereo. Brushing his teeth "Ooh, so fresh!" walking down the street, "Damn, girls, keep back!" Waiting in line, they're like making some accapella rain to soothe their master.

Yes, I much prefer this thought.

Nothing reveals Humanity so well as the games it plays. A game of betrayal, where the most suspicious person is brutally murdered? How savage.

Let's get back to what we all agree really matters:

The FF6 opera with the singing replaced with Tidus's laugh.

Even better than Aerith with Tidus' Laugh

Dancing Mad with Tidus' Laugh is also splendid, but I'm a bit peeved they didn't change Kefka's laugh into the full Tidus laugh. Then it would have been perfect.

Attempting to ruin that opera for people is actually a legitimate reason to ban LockeZ forever. Just sayin'.

If you feel it's ruined, listen to this and it'll be fine again.

Wow that was great.
I don't get why Tidus' laugh is considered that bad since that was the point of the scene between Tidus & Yuna during that moment, and even the characters went wtf, and it was a pretty funny/awkward scene. I don't know if it is because people were young fans back when FFX came out (including myself), and somehow affected people hating Tidus more, and shit. I swear I think Tidus is the most misunderstood protagonist to fans.

I don't even try hard to defend the character anymore since Tidus is always going to be viewed as this whiny guy in the wrong light for most fans it seems.

I don't have much of an opinion since i didn't even reach the middle of the game and i don't think i got to the laughing scene, but from what i've read about it the laugh being like that is the entire point of the scene, but i remember the first time i saw the scene was in an out of context youtube video called "Best Voice Acting In The History Of Gaming", and i think that helped cement the idea that the whole thing was silly.
Well it is not just Tidus, but some other JRPG protagonists over the years getting some kind of ire from fans. I think some video gamers don't wish to relate to the character being in that world, and understanding the character, and especially characters like Squall & Cloud. I can't find many gamers that really try to delve deep into it.

The voice actor of Tidus (James Arnold Taylor) has a youtube channel, and has actually made a few videos explaining the scene in more detail, and how the laugh was indeed supposed to sound like that.

A very good point he raises as well is that the Japanese version of the game already existed before they even started recording the localization, and the laugh is just as goofy and awkward in the Japanese version.

Now is a good time to pickup the FFX-HD collection since it includes the international content. They were even kind enough to include Last Mission+ to finally tie the whole thing up for the international audience. Though there was new content that annoyed me as they basically set up a potential new sequel, and there has been no word on it.

Another thing..

What really gets my goat is how fans completely misunderstood the point of X-2. I understood the themes they were going for, but it baffles me the FF community just wants to constantly take dump on SE for it.

EDIT:
Though it seems through the Critic/Users reviews that it was mostly positive, so I'm not sure where the hate is coming from.

A novel or two came out in Japan but from what I have heard the reception was really lackluster and the book(s) read like bad fan fiction so SE quickly backpedaled on the whole possible FFX-3 idea.

Do not take me word for word but there was huge drama over some novel.
Yeah I remember reading about that, I recall the Japanese community was not very pleased with the novel.

Apparently Tidus got killed by some leftover Machina that looked like a Blitz ball, and Tidus decides to kick it, and lost his head. Somehow..I don't believe SE of all things would let something like that be made. I mean Tidus, the guy who destroyed the most monstrous beings, and somehow done in by a dumb Machina device? Sounds weird to me. There is no mention of this in the wiki, so this is suspect other than Tidus being injured.

Far as I can tell that apparently bringing Tidus back is also bringing Sin back. It was actually never told how Sin was born other than it was the result of that war, but something tells me there was more to it.

I really want to see the English version to get the full picture.
