Mirak if you're into this kind of thing, try unNetHack.
It's a very good spin-off/port of the original NetHack. Controls are kinda clunky, but then again, the same can be said for the PC version...
Edit: And yeah, it's kinda hard to find decent rpgs that don't cost an arm, a leg, and a little brother in the store.
Even harder still to find one that isn't a micro-transaction hell, or a game that's not entirely made up of ads.
Edit2: I *think* a Dorf Fortress port (official or otherwise) is out. Last I heard, it was in the works. If they pulled through with it, then it should be available right now.

NetHack? Sounds like a spin off to a Dot.Hack game or something. xD

It's a game played with three or more people.
Person 1: This is a test.
Person 2: A what?
1: A test.
2: A what?
1: A test.
2. Oh. A test.
1: This is a spoon. 2: This is a test.
2 & 3: A what?
1: A spoon. 2: A test.
2 & 3: A what?
1: A spoon. 2: A test.
2: Oh. A spoon. 3: Oh. A test.
And it goes on and on until someone messes up.

NetHack's older, I think. I know it isn't related to that game, though. Wikipedia link.
It's prolly caused by Square Enix, which rolled all of it's 8-bit and 16-bit classics on it. You can continue with Ys I. and II. Then there are indies like Ittle Dew and Knights of Pen and Paper.
The third category are super underground rpgs and you need to search quite a lot to find them. My suggestion is to use IndieDB for that. These are often free or very cheap. Still the platform is more suited for simple puzzles than RPGs.

Decided to leave a wolfgirl draw on my workbench back at work to liven to mood a bit today and... A co-worker passed by and were like "oh Jesus, why do you have a devil drawn on your desk". .-.
Come on, we're on 2017, the information age! There should be real catgirls with hoverboards on the streets by now.
So please, don't mistake cute ears for horns, it makes Eliza sad. '-')p

How does one mistake wolf ears for horns? ;-;
LockeZ
I'd really like to get rid of LockeZ. His play style is way too unpredictable. He's always like this too. If he ran a country, he'd just kill and imprison people at random until crime stopped.

Werewolves are linked with demons in much the same way as witches are. Werewolf literature shows many examples of gods or saints allegedly cursing those who invoked their wrath with werewolfism. Such is the case of Lycaon, who was turned into a wolf by Zeus as punishment for slaughtering one of his own sons and serving his remains to the gods as a dinner. Those who were excommunicated by the Roman Catholic Church were also said to become werewolves. In other cases, the transformation was supposedly accomplished intentionally by the werewolf's Satanic allegiance, often for the sake of sating a craving for human flesh.

That's demon racist.
author=BlackWolf1992Depends on design, I can see how one would confuse the way I draw Eliza's ears, but that's only if you bat an eye and give up on paying attention after it, as there's the hairy tips and start I always use to differentiate wolf-ears from standard issue cat-ears. :p

author=LockeZEh... I don't think anyone thinks that deep outside of rpg based environments, not there at least, it's more likely some simple math like "Pointy bits on head = Horns."

I'll probably be more mindful about using werewolves though.

Why do people say "Some say 'to-MAY-to', others say 'to-MAH-to'" when the only time anyone actually says 'to-MAH-to' is in that phrase?

If you speak certain types of British English, you actually do pronounce it as "to-MAH-to." I only found out about that relatively recently, too.
