Anyway I agree with both Decky n Hexatona. It's a help thing and it's good to see it and acknowledge it as such.
And also yes, there is enough in our life (just as in anyone else's) to take care of first : ) it's easy to assume beyond it, but it really doesn't help anybody to do so.

the key is to just not get involved in the endless, cyclical, ever-shifting social debates and just work on yourself
frankly I stopped giving a fuck what labels people threw around or how they grouped people or assumed shit because there's more important shit to worry about - like peoples' intentions and actions...or my own problems...or the economy...or my family
if you can't get your own house in order, why waste brainpower trying to get the world in order on reddit or whatever (regardless of the movement)
everyone's fucked up in some way so people need to stop taking offense to random stuff and look at intent and actions rather than words or emotions
actions speak louder than words. you only live once, so why waste your limited time on things that don't bring about any positive outcome for yourself
It's brought up many times in the Bible, but just reflect on Isaiah 58 on why you might change your ways. Granted I don't go forward in good deeds for God's blessing (God will do with me as He sees fit), but a life reflecting the servitude of others is still valued.

An American Youtuber uploads a video that can't be viewed by Americans?
Is this some way of sticking it to the man or has the internet just shit itself again? Back when I was still subscribed to the guy I could see it just fine. I haven't said two words about or to him since then (I unsubbed because he puts out a new video once every two months), yet this happened.
It wasn't a good movie review anyway.

Sometimes copyright strikes make that message pop up. That may be what happened.
Yeah, it's very likely that someone copyright claimed the video (or the matching algorithm got it) and the claimant has removed viewing from that country.
There must be websites dedicated to letting you see youtube as if you were from everywhere in the world. No proxy setup needed. At least i remember there being something like that.
Edit: I should try smoking a little less, because i looked it up and apparently you either have to use a proxy, download it from a proxy downloader like SaveFrom, or cry. Would be nice if what i thought of did exist though.

So I never did manage to get a consensus on this idea I had in mind for a particular RMN event, but what say you all are interested in crafting Megaman levels & bosses? I didn't want to make another topic about it, so I thought I post about it here. Lately some very good engines came out like the Mega Engine or it's upgraded version (that is more preferable) made for a on-going contest at Sprites.inc.
This is the upgraded Engine Devkit that is of now completed for the contest over there that will end soon in a couple weeks -

We already have some people playing around with it that is non-contest like someone remaking Crash Man's level. I really want to see what RMN Community is capable of creating that is off the beaten path. There are tutorials on how to use the upgraded engine, and it is quite easy to use once you get used to it. The Upgraded Engine also features showcase levels that show off many gimmicks (even the Megaman 8 SLIDE SLIDE SLIDE), and bosses (even a few special bosses from obscure games).

I'm not really sure how many Game Maker users we have around here, but the idea sounds interesting. However, the fact that the engine you're linking is distributing a (slightly illegal) license key for Game Maker 8.1 Pro might be a little to hinky for the mods here. I mean, yeah, they don't sell GM8 anymore, but...
Looking a bit at the engine code, I'm glad to see that they switched to using an array to deal with weapon damage values on each enemy. The older version of the engine was doing something like "megaBusterDamage = 1 || thunderWaveDamage = 3" and I just about had a heart attack looking at that mass of typo-induced-errors waiting to happen.

I personally haven't used 8.1 in ages and i think i even uninstalled it. Yes, i did.
Wouldn't mind submerging into it again but i don't think working with that project file is that user friendly for like, any hobbyist gamedev. Specially if they've mostly used engines like any of the rpg makers without delving into coding.
EDIT: If we're talking about our ideas for rmn events, i was thinking of a possible twine 1.4.2 event. Twine, being so flexible and full of potential for choose your own adventure style of books, is very easy and fun to use. There's a newer, browser based version (which is 2.0) but everybody uses 1.4.2 because it's more supported, you can find instructions for doing anything in it online. There have been so many games made with it.
I don't know. I think for a nice change of pace, for doing something a bit different for the community maybe one day an event about that engine would work.

That I was not aware of, but I think something would have been said if it was the case since the Mods there are basically the same over here else the contest wouldn't have happened.

I'd definitely be interested in a megaman community game event. Probably in order to participate, but if not, then definitely in order to play the finished game.
