Just got around to watching Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt. The series was everything I was looking for and more, and I was very thoroughly entertained!

Has anyone ever done an LP of Dragon Destiny by Rast or Nigsek by SovanJedi? I'd really like to see someone play through the former. I tried recently but got hopelessly lost immediately following the Catacombs, as documented below.

I would love to watch someone try and Let's Play a game like Dragon Destiny by Rast for the RPG Maker 2000. This is just one of the game's huge world map regions (set to 1/8th scale) and I don't think anyone in the world has ever seen it through to the end (I know I certainly haven't).

It's supposedly up to 40 hours in length, but I'm sure that's just the slow walking speed.

And to those who don't have experience with RPG Maker, if you look closely, you'll see some really small empty squares. These signify events and they take up one tile. Your character is an event. This one map is obscenely large and it's not alone.

Dragon Destiny: the undisputed king of "Where Do I ****ing GO?!" One hour of wandering helplessly through the Eversole region and I feel like I actually know less about the game than I did going in.

But maybe that's just me. Let's see what the internet has to say.

Ryuu Shun Hayashi (MMORPG full-completer, Wiki-editor, Theorycrafter) has this to say about Dragon Destiny:

"The only RPG I’ve played without stat improvements would be Dragon Destiny."

Someone get this man a game, stat!

"Your mileage may vary, but I consider it one of the best RPGs ever made, in spite of being an indie project."

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-TwBSgKwivw

"Might as well try it out and see for yourself how something like that might work."

... No. It teeters on the miraculous that I could even get through the Catacombs (the first dungeon of the game) while employing "invincibility" cheats.

Real talk: If your game is so off-putting that I can't stomach it even with cheating (that I can't find the drive to quest because for whatever reason you didn't feed me the necessary context clues to give me some sort of inkling on what I should be doing with my life), you've done me wrong.

Nigsek, you're next. But first you'll have to excuse me. I've gotta wash this aftertaste out with some Sequelitis, best as Castlevania 1 vs. Castlevania 2.

I had never heard of that but it looks like a good way to improve. I might!

Is filthy frank the guy that dresses himself in a pink diver suit?
Yup.

My team is trying to come up with a name for our Bacon game. It's hard to name things ;w;

Thought so. He's painfully unfunny for my tastes, but oh well. I understand i'm not part of his target audience.

My team and i haven't been able to come up with a name yet either. It's difficult to do that in these early stages.

Small everyday goals is what Runescape is all about. Now to go sell off all this junk I've accumulated.
I have 3 Crunchyroll 48 hour guest passes. Anybody want em?

Holy crap my nostalgia. I loved this game back in high school. Good to see it's still going!
So here is a idea for RPG Maker Fan Game - "Arc The Lad - The Ancients"

I like how throughout the plot of I&II that Wizard guy that accompanies you was once part of a band of ancient heroes that only appeared as doppelgangers in Arc the Lad II, the only way to trigger it was bringing him along with you to a certain part of the game. There was also so many events that apparently happened that it only left clues for you to piece together, but yet it still remained mysterious.

Oh well, Arc the Lad has pretty much faded from most people's minds by now.

Also good old nostalgia!:

The generals were some of the most evil antagonists in JRPGs, so underrated, and Arc the Lad II also had one of the most hardest final bosses I have ever fought, I really loved this game from beginning to end.

curiously i started playing it for the first time a week ago on my phone and god is it a bad game.

You end up with a shit ton of characters who wont do anything because you end up placing them in a conga line in most maps with the character who can move the most siphoning all the exp because he's the only one that can attack. Wizard dude runs out of mp very early and there are no mp recovery items or magic. What the fuck is Chongara even supposed to do, his summons SUCK. Like i'm really hoping the second game improves everything by the truckload because the first one is painful to play.

Actually Arc the Lad I is basically a prologue for the real thing, Arc the Lad II is way more better with new stuff to do! The point of the series is basically being tactical, and shaping up your party because you won't be using every character in the long run. In II you will eventually start recruiting monsters into your ranks as optional allies, and you can take them to a arena (which is on a separate disc) for extra rewards.

Arc the Lad III will basically start you over with new characters, but any skills, completion data, lvls, and other neat things will carry over. It will also unlock extra scenarios that can only be seen if you have completion of Arc the Lad II. But anyway..choose wisely who you're going to train because they will be your heavy hitters when you reach the true final boss.

Also don't worry if you're under leveled because the game actually scales with you for only certain situations, and even the final boss scales with the highest level character, the downside is if you only trained one character, and the rest is weak then you're in for a hell of a ride, but USUALLY if you're one high level character is pretty damn strong in weapon/armor/stats then you have nothing to worry about, but it will just make the battle longer than necessary.

The series has it's issues, but overall the games are actually pretty good once you know how to play it, my only gripe with Arc the lad I&II is the constant battles, and that can get tedious.

Because the internet is secretly one big bastard child of an ancient space alien with deceptively human mammaries and it's kinky like that.

It's also a jolly good rookie.
