"Scientist" isn't something that you have to have some card or piece of paper to be. It's like saying you can only be a game developer if you work for a AAA company.

Well, amateur game devs are still making games. Bill Nye isn't advancing any particular field, so it's hard to call him a scientist rather than a science advocate or an engineer.
That said, Bill Nye is doing a lot of good in this world and I like him a lot.

Nihilistic existential crisis setting in. Life isn't for the living, it's for living.
At my job, which I hate, we were offloading a human corpse like cargo. This guy was a local who transferred to Calgary twenty years ago. He came back in a coffin. The point: a job that pays the bills can become your entire life. Regretting years wasted working, when I could have been living. Now we're heading to our first home with a mortgage and another padlock of my life force to this company.
Art has always been a passion, but I've also always managed to delude myself into believing that it could be more. It's functionally a hobby. Met several co-workers who came here in the same way, eventually had kids and gave up on art to work overtime shifts.
In the end, we are in a coffin, and nothing matters.
Even if you make an impact in some way, you wind up dust in the wind the next generation may never even notice or know about.
So ultimately that means there is only ever 'today' which matters the most. Do what you love and aspire to do it 'til you die. The only person you have to entertain is yourself.
