TAKING SOME TIME OFF FOR HEALTH REASONS
Posts
I seriously don't understand the people who are posting nonsense and off-topicness here, especially when this is serious -_- Those are limited to certain circumstances, and this topic certainly isn't one of them.
Anyway, Max, good luck with the surgery. Take a deep breath, stay calm and stay healthy!

RMN's userbase gave you Crohn's with our psychic powers that we use as a hivemind against you
WE CAN ALSO GIVE YOU DIARRHEA
i mean, shit sucks, I feel bad for anybody who has to undergo stuff like that, but, like, why do you think RMN cares, haven't you left three times or so anyway
I like to think some people here care like...all of the people who posted that they care. But idk, psychologically speaking RMN is a bit like a badly healed wound for me. It irritates me like an itch, causing me to pick at it, which just causes more pain. A rational person would just leave it alone, but no one has ever confused me with a rational person.
But seriously I just post here because I figure the people who have expressed sympathy/concern would like an update from time to time; occasionally I get PMs or IMs asking for one. If I'm wrong (???) I'll stop. Also when I'm hospitalized I'll stop. Probably. A 99% reduction in posting (Kentona probably has the stats) is pretty good for me.
"This is Max, from the hospital. Fuck all of you. *ACTIVATE MORPHINE DRIP*"
If I actually thought that everyone here hated me as much as a few people here do, I would obviously post. I mean, it's not like I'm S4D : P.
Next time I post I'll tell you guys about the Xanax bullshit...possibly the most unhelpful prescription ever.
Edit:

I agree with this, I thought Craze's post was sincere and funny, without an ounce of nastiness, I know Max's situation, but do we all have to stand mute and erect like around a deathbed?
Most coherent chana post in the history of ever.
No, I honestly want you guys to just be yourselves; most of you are delightful. I don't expect the fact that I'm controversial to abate just because I came out with the fact that I'm seriously ill (and actually have been all along). Just please refrain from saying things along the lines of "nobody here cares that you're sick, pussy, because nobody likes you". This is not the kind of thing anyone should have to see shortly before they go into surgery. I didn't think that I'd have to like...specify that...but...welp.
I'm sure the prospect of what you're about to go through sucks a lot, but I'd say think about the long term situation.
I know that feeling of dread and I really feel for you regarding it. I've had to deal with it a couple of times (though with oral surgery rather than anything super invasive) and I'll have to deal with it more in my coming years (much more invasive than simply cutting open my mouth).
I wish a safe procedure and a speedy recovery for you. It sucks leading up to it, and it's going to suck for a month or so after, but like UPRC said, the long term is probably MORE than worth it from what I know about Crohn's and what you've explained.
Just stay classy. :P
(don't mean to sound deathbed-y; I just get super well-wishy when bad shiz happens)

two days to the surgery full on panic mode xanax doesn't do shit
OH MY GOD people I don't fucking want this shit to happen.
happy easter to me clear liquid diet starts to say, laparscopic ileocecectomy on tuesday
don't want don't want DO NOT WANT
just read about a 73 year old man's experience with my exact procedure online. he actually did really well for someone that age, he's kind of a badass. his was for a "maybe" cancerous polyp that was too big to remove during a colonoscopy. he seemed completely scared shitless of the surgery beforehand even though he mentioned being in the military and looking at his age probably fought in either korea or vietnam.
fuck.
long term eh?

I was unsure whether to youtube link Pat Benatar or The Darkness.

If the ileocecal valve is removed it will result in an effect called 'dumping.' In other words, the compartmentalization of the last part of the small intestine will be lost and as the material moves into the end of the termal ileum, it's remaining in that portion of the GI tract will be compromised. The fecal material exiting from the terminal portion of the ileum is extremely liquidy. The valve allows for sequential/timed delivery of that material into the ascending colon. Since one of the functions of the colon is to 'recycle' fluids - by recovery - some of that fluid may not be recovered and the contents of the large intestine may remain more liquid if a portion of both the terminal ileum and ascending colon are removed during the surgery. This may result in more frequent output of stool whose contents may be of a more liquid form. Some find they're able to modify their diet to decrease the unwanted side-effects. You may want to discuss this with your doctor.

yes you do. If you believe in yourself, you can get through this, with the power of love.

replace "ride a bike" with "have surgery"
You can do this Max! I dunno what exactly to say but that I'm sure you'll come out swinging like you always do. Your perseverance will get you through it. We believe in you!
(And I for one am looking forward to having you back on a more permanent basis, man. You have been missed, you know?)

It's kind of disheartening to read ''jokes'' about Max's situation. The guy's obsviously in a state of panic, I doubt he'd get a laugh out of humor about his disease/surgery.
Anyhow, Max, I wish you to get through this safe and sound and I do hope you stick around.
Take care Max.
