I agree that Marrend or completely avoided or seemed unaware of the fact, which Gourd's idea that he hadn't opened his PM yet could explain.

I had a feeling someone would point that out sooner or later; I didn't choose to acknowledge one 'odd mechanic' over another whereas Marrend did. I was merely generating discussion, while it seems like Marrend was trying to avoid a certain direction.

If we want to find whoever was fishing for information because they have something to hide, you look far more suspicious to me with this

Here's the thing though: They aren't. Items are not uncommon in mafia, powers are....in every mafia game. They're just renamed.
The only thing I'm concerned about are the traits. My PM says I don't have any...yet. Which implies that traits can be conferred on players later in the game.

@Gourd_Clae ^. I also found Yellow Magic's reaction to Marrend's post very suspicious in that she seemed to be describing her own attitude and applying it to Marrend (which's post I agree was certainly odd, unless as you said she hadn't opened her mailbox).

Here's the thing: I've never played a Mafia game outside RMN before, and as such have never been privy to such a setup.

Marrend's references for the point he was making were simply the other two Mafia games. So I find it strange that if he's comparing this game to the other two Mafia games we had recently, he wouldn't point out the T/P/I setup.

...apologies for using the word 'privy', and incorrectly at that. I mean I have never seen a setup like this before.

But these are not "odd" mechanics. They are "renamed" mechanics. And as has been pointed out, you are essentially trying to lynch Marrend for the same thing you did. I'm getting the same feeling I had in PW mafia...that you are making a dishonest mistake rather than an honest one.
