NEW RULE: STOP POSTING SHITTY BLOGS
Posts
While I am disappointed that this must be explicitly stated and become an official rule, here we are.
Statute 7.20.12 Article (b): The Curtailment of Shitty Blog Act
Users of RMN's blog system agree to post only significant, pertinent and worthwhile content in their blogs.
Blogs that are bereft of content will be identified and the posted will be asked to supply significant, pertinent and worthwhile content for said blog, or risk having it deleted. Repeat offenders risk having their game temp-banned.
Double-posting blogs will result in the deletion of the second blog, regardless of the quality of the content.
----
RMN doesn't not currently have any automated tools for dealing with or identifying shitty blogs, so I will rely on the userbase to identify shitty or double-posted blogs and PM me (or Deckiller) about it.
This rule is not retroactive, so past blog postings are grandfathered.
Sincerely,
Kenton "kentona" Anderson

I'd really like to get rid of LockeZ. His play style is way too unpredictable. He's always like this too. If he ran a country, he'd just kill and imprison people at random until crime stopped.

hahahahahahahahahaha
Wait, what is this about again? *Looks at recent blog posts*
...
This rule should have been implemented a long time ago.

Is there no way to put some sort of character limit on blogs, like you do with reviews? Might help.
Our little secret: There is nothing stopping you from posting a review less than 300 characters. It just won't get accepted. Should probably actually implement the minimum character limits.
Here's a little secret: there is no character limit code in reviews. The trick is that reviews are subject to the submission queue and we just deny the one liners.
Also it's really easy to inflate a message with all kinds of meaningless dribble to meet minimum word count limitations.
This has been tossed around for a while now. Blog standards need to increase.
Whenever I have time, I'll be patrolling recent blogs and warning/deleting any that do not meet this criterion. However, as the OP said, we'll need your help identifying any others. We may also do something to encourage high quality and detailed blog posts in the future.

I always saw blogs as just your personal journal, that is open for other people to read if they want. That was their original purpose: a personal journal that your friends could read. But I am among a dying breed, and if the consensus is that using them that way shouldn't even be an option any more, then I have no problem with that. Ultimately the result is that blogs will be more interesting.
You can always put your shitty blog on some other site, or use the comments section of your game page instead (which is basically just a blog with a simpler interface, anyway)

So you do have automated tools.

I am an automaton.
Also, TFT's attempts at rebelliousness amuse me. Especially with that smug veneer he adopts.

I don't think this will be a problem xD
There's nothing you can change without (some) immediate opposition, but I think in the long run this will be a generally beneficial rule :) Kind of sad it had to come to this, though :<
Um, I have a question. Sometimes, if I work on graphics (like character portraits, sprite overhauls, not stuff like recolors or screenshots) I'll post a bunch of them to my blog without saying much else (the images are pretty self-explanatory.) Would that be okay now?
I ask because it might be a little troublesome if a character limits are enforced :D

Looks more like magnificent breasts to me.
also I really want to know what blog post was the straw what broke the camel's back. Something really shitty must have been posted. Not like regular shitty, either, but like... poop on a pumpernickel sandwich shitty.
TFT's always been the voice screaming FUCK YOU in the wilderness. Very important role around here. Keeps everyone from getting comfortable.

Just curious- whose standard of shitty are we going by here? :P
