~MURDER MYSTERY MAFIA~ [GAME THREAD]

Posts

"Indeed, Sir Craig Harver, you are correct. I would like to lynch Sir Essex, but we must find out which clues our kind guest Elliott has to offer us first. Your tea, Mr. Elliott?
Official Vote Tally: Day 2
Jeroen_Sol: 5 (CAVE_DOG_IS_BACK, chana, Archeia_Nessiah, MrChearlie, thatbennyguy, thatbennyguy, Little Wing Guy, MirrorMasq )
thatbennyguy: 1 (MrChearlie)

It takes 7 to lynch. You have over a day left until Day Phase 2 ends.

{Note: In case anyone was confused as to who Sergeant is - who has been referred to a number of times - that would be the narrator, my character.
Also, now a rule - Add your characters' name to the top of your post so that people may know who is who and don't get confused. Thanks~ }

Nothing reveals Humanity so well as the games it plays. A game of betrayal, where the most suspicious person is brutally murdered? How savage.

If I reclaim miss Sarah, I will not have three votes. I have to choose between my slaves about whose vote I want to control. I am in essence a doublevoter, and need I remind you the only crime punishable by death is murder? But enough of that, it is very clear this murder has released the beast, hungry for blood, in many of you.

If anyone of you is still interested, I find sir Jives' manner of voting, cancelling, revoting and then cancelling again very suspicious. Do watch out for him after I'm gone, will you? Hawrhawrhawr!
Lyle Jives, Chief Steward
May I say that there is indeed an aspect of the evidence that we somehow ignored. I quote the description of the item by our dear Sergeant:

Small Satchel of OpariumFound in the bathroom after an attack (?), this small satchel carries residue of the hallucinogenic drug, Oparium, which is known to make users violent and dangerous when confronted. The drug is missing, possibly used by the attacker.

I emphasise the points which need to be addressed. Someone here has possibly consumed some Oparium, albeit a small dose. They are most probably inclined to be irritable when questioned, or confronted with evidence of any kind. Since I am too polite to cast suspicion on anyone, I entrust that the more bold and aggressive members can grill other suspects about clues, to elicit an aggressive reaction? I mean this in the kindest of manners.

(slow the fuck down you guys site was dead earlier also answer my question cave - -)

"So Mr Harver is the only one willing to cooperate on slowing the lynch of Mr Essex despite that my evidence will have the potential to harm him. Interesting. In addition, the last post of Mr Jives actually has a link to my clue regarding Mr Harver."
I sigh and rub my temple.

"Sir Elliot, I would like to ask for the important pieces of information again. It seems that I have lost it and I would like to be refreshed. I'm sure a lot of us are confused by the situation."

I notice that I already ran out of coffee and asked Mr. Jives for a glass of water.
I give a blank look at Lady Cinatti regarding her comment to me.

Great. A day has passed and only this much posts were made. Quite a slow day but a certain person's response did not satisfy me at all.

"Mr Harver if I could, I would rather you come out and confess yourself but it seems you've decided to discard your last chance. Very well. Yesterday, there were needles found in your room. Some appear to be new, while some... appeared to have been used. Explain yourself.", I said impatiently, giving him a stern look.

"Now."
(lul well not now now/literally since it's morning over there x))

"Oh and, the receipt was found in one of the more "influential peoples'" room. So anyone who's not a kid/Dobby/serves coffee speak up buddy."

The fact is we're not looking for a slave owner but a murderer, cartels and mafias !

"Buffoons. If you all were diamonds, I'd classify you as chocolate. We have no clear leads as to who the murderer is as of yet. Such evidence is extremely unlikely to be presented now. There is no reason to believe Essex's statement about his abilities, and there is no reason to not get rid of a man who can control others whose allegiance lies not with the law-abiding citizens aboard this boat, but with himself."

Now, Lady Cinatti, you said you've been knocked over the head and a satchel remains with you. If you were unconscious as you've said, shouldn't the perpetrator have enough time to take it with them?

"I can't speak as to why that knave left the satchel behind. I can only assume that he did not know that he was missing. Or perhaps he did not know that I was unconscious and that he would be able to retrieve it."

"The drug in question is not a liquid, but a powder. These needles are immaterial. Throw the brigand who would make humans into marionettes off of this ship."

"I only cancelled my vote to give Mr. Elliot some time to give his information. He did ask for us to back down at least after he present them." I sigh again.

"But powder can be dissolved into water? I'm not sure how you actually use Oparium. I'm afraid I'm very uninformed about these things." I take a pause, "But how are they immaterial? What are they used for and why does he have a large amount of them?"
Lawrence Fevell

"Wait, now that I think about it..." I open my notebook and read some of the previous pages. "They are used for heroin and the likes right? And I recall reading that you can either inject or inhale them. So there is no way that those needles aren't good proof that Mr. Harver is a drug user!"
(Off topic: Since others haven't replied yet, I'll assume they probably still can't access rmn like YM and Zeuzio . Would the deadline be extended or not though? Cuz I could only access it at night for some reason @_@)

"Drugs is still drugs. Also since I'm not sure when the deadline is, I'll leave these evidence right away.

The receipt in question has been found in one of the more...influential peoples' room. Because of their standing, I'm not allowed to reveal the person. The receipt says...

"To: NAME REMOVED

This document is to prove the purchase of two (2) livestock under the Class Q-31 Act. Both animals are in sound health and mind. Both are registered and marked in the proper and usual manner. The cost of both is $2000 Pounds total, that is $1000 Pounds each. Payment has been received. The bearer of this document is considered the owner of said livestock and may sell or use them as S/He sees fit as long as they abide by the guidelines set down by the 1872 Provinces Convention.
Enjoy your purchases.
From: Ryan Coldidge.

PS: Hope you enjoy these two, old friend. I know you prefer them young and pretty!"

The final clue is about the deceased. And...

The Deceased is a man named Ryan Coldidge. 57 years of age.

Rumour has it that he has ties to a lot of underground businesses including slave-running, smuggling, insider-trading and various other small crimes, though he has not been charged with anything. He was also accused of handling stolen goods and there was some nasty business with a kidnapped child, though he managed to get out of that one somehow, since any charges were dropped and it was revealed to be a family issue.

He's known to be a philanthropist and funded a soup kitchen and Women's shelter, so a lot of people consider him a kindly man who is just misunderstood and gives many second chances to those who probably don't deserve them.

Regarding the first piece of information, anyone who's not a kid/slave/serves coffee can start speaking up now."

'Hmm... (Although I haven't received any flavour about this,) I think it's safe to assume the note was found in my room, and the two animals referred to are Maria and Sara. In that case the friend I bought them from is our victim, and must've been killed on his way to bring the two girls to me. I thought it was odd he never showed up in the cocktail lounge that night...'
(ahhhh add the nametag!!)

Eliott Jacobs

"Having 'livestock' as codenames for them seems pretty disgusting to me. If you indeed bought them from the victim, shouldn't you have known about the receipt beforehand...? It wouldn't make sense to just "assume" it's yours. You seem to like hiding a lot of things. Perhaps you are protecting a certain person of the same standing as yours...?"

Sorry about the name tag.

Ridgerow Essex
I assume it's mine because I bought my slaves from an old friend, and the receipt says the man sold it to a friend. (I wasn't told about any receipt, so I can't be certain, but it seems to make sense) Your reaction removes my doubt. It's mine, isn't it?

With regards to protecting someone, Lady Cinatti summed it up quite well. My allegiance is to myself.
Eliott Jacobs

"Haha. There are only two things that you need to know. One is that, the receipt is found in one of the more influential people, and there wasn't anything at all, that was implying it to be you. It could be anyone from the upperclass. Second, think why I've approached Mr Harver but not yet to anyone regarding that clue."
