Sorry, not gonna play game where everyone insults you and where "motherf****" is one of the lightest terms one calls player who makes firts steps in such games. But if you want, then go on.

If you can't take shitty players being shitty to you, then I suggest staying away from online gaming altogether. That being said League has one of the nicest communities I've personally seen. As long as you're kind to the other team/ringers you can expect kindness in return.

How the hell did we almost lose to a Intermediate Bots match? I thought you guys were pros.

This is because most people are moronic asses that can't take new players.
My advice is to play bots untill level 10-15, where you can have summoner spells like flash or ignite. Watch as many champ spotlights as possible and practice makes perfect.
However with communication....

Mute anyone who gives you shit, but try not to mute players actually trying to help you.

I actually disagree with this. (strictly preference based, not saying it's bad advice) I feel that bots are pretty horrible to play against. While they have some pretty decent AI now, they're extremely non-representative of what actually happens in a regular match. I typically see people who leveled up playing bots get worked over pretty hard by players who avoid bot matches. It might be okay to play bots to test out a more complicated champ to get a feel for them, once, at the most twice, but other than that I suggest avoiding bots. It might not be pleasant getting trolled by the shitty community if you get killed a few times, but I feel like you learn a whole lot quicker what to do/not to do in regular matches. For the trolling:

This. Very much so. It's easy to get caught up with the shit-talking (I partake in it frequently, although I don't like to start it) but losing/dying isn't that frustrating. It's when people start demeaning you for it is when it becomes an unfortunate experience. Especially when they're an 0/17/3 Teemo telling you that you suck. Mute and play your game.
TL;DR Don't play bot matches, just mute trolls in regular matches.
I always play a bot match or two with a champion I'm trying for the first time, but in general I prefer PvP. People are so much more interesting than AIs, and not all of the community is made up of assholes. Some, yeah, but there are assholes everywhere. It's easy to get distracted, but remember to honor the Shyvana who asks if you need help bot or the Thresh who throws lanterns to help you get to lane faster. =)
Or you can play almost entirely on bots until lv 20 and then start a new account like me. I have like 6 accounts and I'm finally going for the lv 30.
PvP is more for serious gamers. You don't seem to me like the kind of guy that enjoys competitive gaming.
I don't, really. I much prefer a relaxed PvE game, or co-operative play. I got my PvP fix back in the Command & Conquer days, when I was young and carefree.
How common would you guys say it is for the other team to surrender? I could swear that I've only had one "legit" victory in the last two weeks. I know that surrenders don't really con you out of IP/XP, but it's annoying to me, it feels like the other team is just trying to do something underhanded.
I'm probably letting paranoia get to me.

gets rather less common when you get to level 30.
newer players tend to get demotivated even when the enemy is only a bit ahead, increasing the chances of them getting frustrated, making more mistakes and giving up altogether.

Ah, that's what I figured. I'm level 15 now, so it's not like they're surrendering super early or anything. They probably just do it to save time or something; it generally only happens when we push into their base or onto their nexus.
