SHOW GIL AND CRYSTALS ON TOP OF CRYSTALS/ EVENTS FIGHTING

I am making a game that requires a crystal image and something to show you how much gil you have (on top of screen). I also need to know how I can make events fight. The units will attempt to kill the monsters, before they get to the end. Sound familiar? This too much too ask???
I dont know what maker you are using but here is a tutorial from ultima island.com that shows how to simulate a fight between 2 npcs.

What do you mean by "before they get to the end" though.
To get you started on how to show how much gil is on top on the screen and I am asuming you have 2000 or 2003 you create a new varible and set it "money" which is in the ohter options. I unfortuantly cant really help you with displaying it as I forgot what that special code is that displays variables that you type in the mmessage event command.
