THE DARK KNIGHT
Posts
I just got back from seeing this with my friends, it's about 2:30 AM here right now.
I live in Pittsburgh, and almost every single theater was sold out, and we managed to get tickets at what is considered the best theater in the city for a 10:45 PM showing. After the drive to get there, the theater is packed. We almost couldn't get a parking space, and there are tons of people just chilling outside, waiting for their next showing (almost half the theater was dedicated to the movie). So we actually get in and see the movie...
...And it is one of the absolute best movies I've ever seen. In my life. I could go on and on about it, all night, in several pages of this topic. Heath Ledger played the best Joker, ever. Seriously, he set the bar for the Joker. No one else could even ever play him. Ever.
I'm sorry, I'm not very coherent right now. I need a drink of water or some sleep or something. Uh, Dark Knight topic discuss yadda yadda.

I need to see this movie. But I don't think I will be able to see it for another 2 weeks. It is going to be a long 2 weeks.

The only solace I can offer you is that you do not know what you're missing.
I'm seeing it tomorrow. I love how one of our local critics blasted the movie, though. "Audiences will be asking, like the Joker, 'Why so serious?'" He said that it takes itself way too seriously, hence the quote. Well, critics are critics, and quite a few others of their kind are lauding this movie.
This is the best movie of the year so far (sorry WALL-E!).
The Joker might be a little too serious, I guess, but it totally works with this film. I am having trouble finding words describing the epicness of this film.
WOW.

My friends suck, they don't want to go see this movie. <_<
I'm the only one who does around here that I know of.

Saw it friday night at 8:00, it was great
I'm getting IMAX tickets to go see it again next Sunday.
I'm getting ready to go see it right now, I won't be coherent when I get back either. Lol... I'll tell you my thoughts later.
It was pretty good, and Ledger was a good Joker, but he didn't dethrone Mark Hamill's Joker or anything. Still, he was plenty entertaining and totally believable as a nutjob, so it worked well.
My biggest beef with the flick was the raspy voice the dude takes on when he's Batman instead of Bruce Wayne. And I don't like the way he looks in the mask....I don't know if it's CG or just a strange way of making the mask, but it looks too fakey for my tastes.
Other than that, a pretty good watch. But I'd still say Iron Man was the better superhero movie.

The Dark Knight was amazing. I saw it at 3:30 AM on Friday and went back to see it again on Saturday at 8:00 PM (twice in <48 hours). I'm glad someone finally brought to life the more serious, sadistic version of the Joker envisioned by some of the earlier Batman writers (and truly fleshed out in the comics by Frank Miller and Alan Moore). I was absolutely astounded by the level of darkness that the Nolan brothers brought to this movie.
They make the Wachowski brothers look like 14-year-olds (and The Matrix like their freshman English creative writing project).

Same here, I could go anytime I want, but I don't want to go alone. I'll have to wait for the DVD, still, they cost about the same as ticket now anyway xD

I'd go see this alone. it's that good.
No, I am too busy most of the time and also every theater in the midwest is sold out whenever I go to see it. I think I will go alone to spite my girlfriend.

That is really sad. Do you not have any friends?
