Yeah, I agree with this.
As for my favorite quotes, I happen to like the almost poetic tone of "Life is turn based. Your turn." the most. Though, "Makerscore is a good measure of your worth as a human being" always gets me to snicker every time I see it. And of course, "There does not need to be a reason beyond maguffins. "Thing there, go get," has been a tried and true videro game plot for decades." is pretty special to see, since it was directly said to me by Sooz back when the discussion of Wyrm Warriors veered into conversation on whether games need a story.

If there one of the taglines that bothers me is that one about being a lousy dev, it sounds like a "Your crappy half-rtp game aren't welcome here." preventing first uploads and encouraging paranoid people to create threads like this one.

I can't believe RMN is infested with skeletons. - I can't remember what this one was from but it's my favorite. I think it was over some really silly drama that happened with someone getting their game banned from rmn for making sock puppet accounts and an anonymous user getting upset over it. Mocking ensued.
I'm in the horror communist dev school RPG maker game fandom - someone proposed a really weird idea for a satire rpg maker game that had communism in it for some reason. Silliness ensued. You can read the saga here.

I thought it would be extra funny if you looked back on the quote in 2018 and realized "welp, they're still not illegal yet". You could just rephrase it to "Maybe this year will finally be the year that RPG Maker games become illegal" instead so you wouldn't have to do anything funky.

Should you be interested (and using Chrome) here is the extension I use. It makes the internet's tendency to latch onto annoying catchphrases infinitely more tolerable.

for me, it's 3 solid dungeons, 2 semi-permeable dungeons, 2 liquid, 3 gaseous, and as least one in a high-pressure plasma state.

Dungeon crawl is a bit antiquated of a way to punish Link now that you can just cook rocks in a pot and force him to eat them.
I feel like "Hey! Please, for the love of Nemera! Back up your files!" or something similar should be a tagline.
The amount of times I've seen a game cancelled or put on hiatus because they didn't think their computer or hard-drive would ever fail and never backed up all their files is a bit depressing.
