Hiya all~<3 It's my birthday! This was going to happen on my birthday but then things happened. What does this mean for you? It mean I'll review your games now if you ask! Isn't that wonderful? Honestly, this is an attempt to get myself to the top of the Most Reviews list - I find that I can get more done if I'm doing something for people. A list to refer to when I have free time is also nice!

Link is playing games over on his thread if you'd prefer a gameplay video!

Hey Kel is reviewing things too! He reviews pretty quickly from what I can tell so if you're sick of waiting for my slow butt you can ask for a review from him too~<3

Rules
  • I don't mind if your game is long just keep in mind it'll take a while for me to play it as well as review it. Additionally, I'm going to prioritize shorter games over your game so that I don't get snagged on your epic in my work load.
  • Your game can require RTP - I have most of it. I'll download it if I have to! If I have to download something else just make sure it's pretty clear what I need to have.
  • I'll try to review/play games in order, but I reserve my right to jump around on the list~
  • You don't have to request a game on this thread. I'm fine with you shooting me a PM. If you have a problem with my review you can just post a comment on the review. Or PM me. Whatever works for you.
  • I don't really have a preference, so don't worry too much about your game's genre - I won't!

Happy birthday! If you're up for a difficult puzzle game, check out my game Bunraku! Average play through is ~4 hours. http://rpgmaker.net/games/6337/
LockeZ
I'd really like to get rid of LockeZ. His play style is way too unpredictable. He's always like this too. If he ran a country, he'd just kill and imprison people at random until crime stopped.

What kinds of games do you like, and how hard do you like them to be?
@Wabewalker That looks interesting! We'll see just how hard your puzzle game is~

@LockeZ I like challenge and my tastes can best be described as... I'm a goat? I like RPGs, action, adventure, puzzle, shooter, VN pretty much anything that's good in its own right will probably jive well with me.

If you really like challenge, like being able to create a custom party and have fine control over your powers and skills, and don't mind minimal story, try Soul Shepherd!

Warning, it is hard as balls. Like Dark Souls or Etrian Odyssey level hard. It started out on insane-difficulty.net and migrated to RMN later. But it's also extremely fair. (Probably want to read the instructions file, it's a short file though.)

Game length is about... six to thirty hours, depending how bad you are.
I've heard of Soul Shepherd actually. I can see me taking somewhere closer to 40 hours because, uh, yeah. I've been thinking about playing it for a while and this is giving me an excuse!

I already came upon what is either a glitch or an unfortunate consequence of my computer in that game so we'll see if I can make it to the end.

Well, that's odd.

Just tested it and it works fine for me. Can you tell me what the error said?

Maybe it has something to do with my security settings? It says something about permission...
Once again I say please review Estopolus.
The one review it has is old and back then it practically was a different game...

Despite also requesting this in karins_soulkeeper's thread, I think it's more likely that you'd find Okiku, Star Apprentice enjoyable. Or, I could just be incredibly biased in favor of that game.
Those both sound doable! I'm especially interested in Okiku since I've heard about it but I've yet to play. Estopolus sounds like a cool game - I like the name~

Edit: Just finished playing Okiku! I've ended up starting at the bottom of the list but beggars can be choosers. Maybe I'll jump to the top from here?

This is a Windows 7/8 user account control thing, it often happens if you manually stick a program in Program Files, especially if it was designed for earlier versions of Windows. If you put the folder on your desktop or in your my documents folder, or if you right-click on the game and Run As Administrator, it should work fine.
That fixed it right up! Thanks~
Yeah, there's a second folder called Program Files(x86) that doesn't have those permission issues. Put stuff in there.
Now that I've got my computer up and running, I'll be doing a (final?) retouch of Whisper once I clear my backlog of other stuff. I could definitely use some feedback there.

and happy belated birthday~?
Thanks, sviel!

I've played a little of Whisper and it's nice so far. I'll get to your review soon enough! First I have to finish Marrend's. The other three on this list are longer so I've been slowly chipping away at them. Soul Shepherd has been pretty cool!
I actually have been meaning to ask someone for a scored review for Celdran's Curse. It has a review but the person left (and this was before we had scores added, so...).
It's still a demo and not that long. Shouldn't require any extra files. It's 2k3, and there's a tips page on the game page in case you get stuck.
Gourdy is on the case, Libby!
I suppose my recently translated game will most likely take you a while (since it is an epic), but perhaps you want to reserve it for playing later? :)

Seraphic Blue

And I'm sure you probably know, but Seraphic Blue is a pretty tough game. :)
