I hold the note in my hand, careful not to touch skin to the parchment on which it was written. It's wrinkled and water damaged but not enough for the ink to run. The word jumps off the paper, harsh lines easy to read.

The announcement last night had caught me off guard - for them to find out about the planned assassination was a stroke of bad luck, but I'd come back from worse. It's why I'm considered the best in the business. Too late to cancel in any case, I'm here now - the best money could buy. Pity I never got to meet my contact before he was dragged away, though, but his note tells me enough. Kill the Tenkai star. Easy. I've had less clues before... just having trouble remembering any one specific example but hey, I've been complaining about a lack of challenge in my work for the last few years. This should prove a fair one at least.

I tie my weapon tight, careful to remember how the person whose face I now wear uses it. Can't be too careful, after all. Don't want to stuff this up if I want to get paid. And I do. Want paying, of course. It's not the most money I've been offered for a job, but it gets me out of a favour I owed the requestee, so that's a bonus. Still, I made sure to tell them that I'd only work during the festival - anything beyond that I can't do. Got another job lined up in the Queendom which should pay a lot better than this one. Still, I can't see much issue in this - shouldn't be too hard...

Okay, okay~ I was gonna save the surprise until the Festival actually started but...

The festival lasts for 10 days. As the flavour says, the assassin will only be around until the end of the festival. That means, excluding this first day, there is a time limit for the game (so we don't drag on forever).

Consider this Day 0. The festival begins on Day 1. You then have 10 days to find the assassin, who also only has 10 days to kill the Tenkai Star.

If the Tenkai still lives at the end, it's considered Town's win.
If the Tenkai is dead... well, we'll come to that when it happens. :DDD

Of course, each 'Day' of the festival will be about 2-4 IRL days, so no worries that you won't have enough time. It's just a limit since we have a large group and only one assassin.

"Doctor! Doctor Huan! Wait, please, just a moment!"

"Oh, Doctor, thank goodness I caught up to you! There's an emergency at the clinic! Young Master Tuta sent me to fetch you right away. I'm so sorry to bother you during your break, especially when you were so adamant about having a holiday but..."

With a sigh and a heavy heart you turn yourself around and head back to the clinic. Sure, you didn't get to enjoy the festival (even if it doesn't start until tomorrow, you were still hoping to check out some of the decorations and stands that had been opened before the official start) but at least you did get a break.

A very short one.

Back to weeding and medicine... guess your garden and your patients will be well taken care of over the next week or so. (Pity that your patience won't be, though.)
