I think I've poked and prodded Cave enough. He seems on the level, mostly.

That leaves me with the possibility that the assassin's doing the whole lurker business. So, it's probably someone who hasn't been contributing to scumhunting more than token efforts. While Dudesoft fits into that category, he claims to have been messed with last night, and a kill still went down, right? And Dudes has still been scumhunting, if only minimally.

By process of elimination, you're likely our man. You've been making minimal posts, crawling by and avoiding suspicion, but also not actively trying to find the assassin.
Yeah, this seems good; Cave is extra annoying RN, but admittedly doesn't seem totally guilty.

He's been breadcrumbing protector since the beginning. His claim is as believable as yours. The point is, we shouldn't lynch someone claiming protector. Seeing the assassin HAS to kill them to get to the tenkai, we'd be shooting ourselves in the foot by lynching possible protectors. If a few days go by and one of you two doesn't die, that's when we can start doubting protector claims.

Yeah, on review now that I'm actually freaking awake, it seems like Piano probably has a better claim to protectordom because his "love from afar" thing, when not being confused as the Lover role, really seems to communicate "Protector."
Honestly, Wes's claim of protector seems more suspect.

I think PlatinumAshes is a concern. He killed on the first night phase and tried to kill on the second night phase. If he was assassin, I don't think he'd admit that, but say he's telling the truth and he's a vigilante, and say that like wes and me, he doesn't know who the Tenkai is, just the name. Having him is like having two assassins. He may very well hit the Tenkai by accident and either wes and I will have played our hands and the Tenkai is unprotected, or there's one protector down that didn't have to be. Of course, he could also hit the assassin, but what if the assassin is bulletproof as Jeroen seems to be?

I guess wes could also be lying about being a protector as well but it just seems like a pretty dumb gamble to me.

Obviously not their stars or anything but there still could be the possibility of three protector if each protector's power is unique enough and they have already claimed. However I can see that information benefiting the assassin so perhaps it's actually a bad idea.

Well, I'm Protector of the Tenkai Star. My protection is automatic, meaning I just kinda sit around and wait for the Tenkai to be targeted and when the Tenkai is targeted for a kill I protect him and die instead of him. Piano seemd to imply his protector role works the same way... OH IDEA

Doubting his claim has nothing to do with it. Lynching someone who is likely to be a protector is just a terrible idea. If he doesn't die one of the next nights, he's probably not a protector, and we can lynch him then. For now, especially since he's been breadcrumbing this for a while, his claim that he's a protector sounds believable to me.
Personally, I think there are four protectors. Why? Because if PlatinumAshes is telling the truth and he is a vigilante, with the way he's acting, we've got two killers that could hit the Tenkai. One protector killed during first night phase, then me, wes, and Cave. That's why I cancelled my vote for CAVE. I think he may be a protector. Why do I think CAVE is a protector? Because TungermanU was "killed" the previous night phase. During that night phase, Cave was busy with a scene involving Jeroen, Gourd_Clae, PlatinumAshes, and MajoracanKing. PlatinumAshes tried to kill Jeroen but failed and then revealed that fact along with the information that he was a vigilante. PA could still be the assassin. I believe his claim, but feel he's just as much a threat to town as the assassin. He's killing every night phase also (failed on one) and he could kill the Tenkai star.
@Ebeth What specifically would you like to know? I've made the clarifications you've been asking for. I never said I was the lover of the Tenkai, but that I am in love with him. Last night, he was touring the festival, and at one point, he had a conversation with someone running a stall.

Just this ^ Also I know you are a protector not a lover! My thought was just that if you guys compared notes and one of you was an impostor we/you'd be able to tell. Given that your roles differ slightly I'm inclined to believe that both of you are in fact protectors. Which raises the more that one assassin question.
Also I'm really curious as to how Dude's nighttime horrors fits in with everything else.
