YELLOW MAGIC WANTS TO LP YOUR GAMES
Posts
> v < I just finished the demo for an RPG Horror game called ACE I really would like to see what other people think of it, and I would be really honored if you'd LP it...
And yes... The Demo itself is short, but I'd like to say it's short and sweet at the least o v o;.

I don't know why you guys are borderline-flattering me so much (I have taste, Lou??) but thanks for the kind words anyway!
@Bulmabriefs: Dude, I'd really appreciate if you made your game RTP-independent. The game crashed after that crazy movie because "title cannot be opened" or something.
Anyway, part 3 of Iron Gaia is up! In this one, I rant about random encounters, some of my favourite games and get inflicted with a weird-ass status effect (anyone know what 'nanited' means?).
It's got FullPackageFlag=1. I'm not sure what else to do. You know that bracketed stuff where missing files are supplemented by the RTP? I don't have any of that.
...Okay, that gives me something to go on. "Title" cannot be opened. Uhh, one. Go and get a new download. To the best of my knowledge, I'm having a weird issue with the BetterAEP on Tales. Try the latest upload. Since I found out the BetterAEP issue, I've done 3 separate bugfixes.
Two, let me know (immediately) by mail if there are issues with that one, or if you can play it fine. There may be a corrupt "title" file, but I'm hoping this isn't the case.

Yeah, I'm not sure how well puzzle/adventure games would translate into watchable LPs. That's the main issue.
Anyway, I've decided to go with Iron Gaia and Tales from the Reaper. The first video of Iron Gaia's up: Sorry I screwed up the audio (EDIT: As well as all the 'ums' and 'ah's', Jesus) - I may or may not redo that section.
Awesome, I gotta check this out. (I hope you weren't too rough my ego is fucking delicate even about babygames lol.)
Oh man your voice is so deep and sonorous and...BRITISH?? I feel bad that you're trying to talk over the (badly compressed) Coheed, you gotta turn that shit down somehow so you can be heard. Haha it makes me feel like I am being rude, like I personally am yelling Coheed and Cambria lyrics over you haha.
Anyway you should add the LP as media on the Iron Gaia gamepage when you get a chance. Then I can comment at length and give kind of director's commentary type running commentation along the lines of "this is why THIS part is so awful, this is why THAT part is so awful, I was 13, please forgive me, ORZ ORZ ORZ" lol.
Final Note(S!) lest I edit this post six hundred times as I watch your three half hour videos: I am very flattered by the context of importance you give me in the RM community. I'm not sure I'm as renowned as you say but it's nice to hear. Let me throw this out too: you (along with Liberty) have the least annoying voice of any LPer I've heard. Like I'm watching this video without cringing, which is a really good thing. Your voice is actually quite nice, it's the first voice I've heard in an LP that I actually wouldn't mind reading my dialogue aloud haha.
Oh, to clarify about the story surrounding To Arms! It was actually relatively story driven, compared to something like Mage Duel or Journeyman or even Everything Turns Gray (title of ETG is yet another music reference, name of a punk song by Agent Orange). I called it a tactics game, not a strategy game. Strategy to me means grand strategy, like controlling whole armies. Tactics to me means small unit tactics, controlling like 6-18 guys, like in Final Fantasy Tactics. People disputed it being a tactics game because even though there were like 12 characters, there was no tactical movement in battles. That's fine. The drama actually came later when Brickroad loudly and angrily declared that the entire thing was a big horrible ripoff of Game of Thrones. And honestly, he was only half wrong. But the reaction to his "takedown" piece really made me not want to work on the project anymore.
It is correct that there are users who resented my move from story based games to mechanics based games. IIRC DE (who contributed graphics to another wildly popular circa 2006 game of mine, Eldritch) was the best example of this. But with Lionheart I have very much made a move back to story-focused games with some very long cutscenes so it will be interesting to see how that plays out.
Oh, when the GAIA references Star Trek and Star Wars and the Beatles, what is happening is that the AI IN THE GAME is coyly referencing those pop culture things as it goes completely fucking insane. I could have made that clearer. But those references aren't there for tits and giggles, they're meant to indicate that the GAIA is losing its shit. But again, it could have been clearer. Looking back...that intro is...it's certainly not boring, and that's a good thing. But it really doesn't take any time to hold your hand and explain what the fuck is going on.

There are times I sound a little...exasperated, but please don't take anything in my LP's to heart! Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne had me swearing at my TV a lot but that didn't stop it from being one of my favourite jRPGs.

Uhh...thanks, I guess? And nothing wrong with a bit of Coheed!! After the first video, I figured out how to balance audio probably, so s'all good now.

Oh, that's an idea. Sure, I could do that when I get the time.

Honestly, I'd say you've definitely been one of the more notable members in the past ten or so years (that I can remember, anyway). You don't have to take that as a compliment if you don't want to...

Thanks again (..I guess)! Regarding reading dialogue aloud: I know a lot of people frown upon that kind of thing, and I'd rather have more substance in my LPs to be honest - trying for more of a toned-down, deconstructive analysis approach as opposed to LOOK AT ME I'M SO KOOKY AND YELL ALOT WHILE PLAYING GAMES TEEHEEEEE. There's too many of those already.

That's fair enough - to be honest, I didn't play much of the game to remember the story. Haha, I remember the whole Brickroad thing. Now that I'm up to date on the TV show, I wonder if I'd feel the same if I went and played To Arms now!

Oh gosh yes I remember this

Yeah, I figured out that much to be honest - it'd be weird by anyone's standards to just include those kind of references for the hell of it.
Hate to be THAT guy, but Part 4 of my Iron Gaia LP is now up! This one is just over 45 minutes long and a LOT happens, so don't miss it!!! ....please....
Would always love to hear more on Infection
:)
:)
I'll come back to you after my extensive screening process (or not, I just need to determine whether I'll enjoy the game somewhat)
Anyway, Iron Gaia part 5 go go go. I go off on quite a few tangents this time round - hope no one watching (i.e. all 2 of you) mind!

I know this goes against #2 and #3, but thought I'd toss this out there if you'd wanna try my game.

It's definitely not a 2-3 hour game (runs about 17-30 hours at 50% completion), so it's definitely not a short game, and as you probably can guess/already know, it's based on another series so...up to you obviously! ^^;

Glad you're enjoying them, Max!
@Xenomic: Unfortunately yeah, the game is a bit too long for my liking. Sorry Xenomic! Feel free to keep me posted about any other projects.

Okay! So, I'm having some serious personality conflicts with Yellow Magic.
Unless someone else wants to LP it, I'm taking my name down from the list.

Uh... uhm... It's just a demo... So please, don't expect too much.
And also, it's my first game... It really has no goal. And don't worry about
me making fun of your accent; I have one too, so I'd never make fun of an accent!
It's called Fantasy Gold, by the way.

Just realised I missed a couple of posts earlier. Corfaisus and FuzziestMushroom: I'll check your game profiles out. Same for you, Christmamoose.
Part 6 of the Iron Gaia LP is now up! Warning: This one's massive.

So yeah just to let you know Iron Gaia does I believe have a TV Tropes page (I didn't make it, I don't know who did) so if you wanted to link your LPs of it there you might get a few more views.
^Cool - I'll get around to that at some point.
FYI, not in a position to do LP's until my Christmas time off is over (so next Monday).

Pardon the gratuitous bumping but Part 7 is now up! There's even a shiny new playlist!
Oh God now I'm triple-posting. Whatever, Part 8 is up!
I'm just posting so the next time you posting it isn't four persona casuals in disguise in a row. I'm midway through video...6, I think, btw. I am slowly catching up.
What does persona casual in disguise even mean?

The SMT series has a spin-off series of Persona games. These games are easier than the main series and have much less puzzle-intensive dungeons, in exchange for dating sim elements to power up your monsters (the titular Personas).
Yellow Magic's title implies that he pretends to enjoy the main series, but they would seem to be too hardcore for him, so he goes for SMT-lite.
