WHY CONTINUE A SERIES?
Posts
I'm not really surprised that people are turned off by some of the elements in the game.
*Thinks back to the part when you have to give Leblanc a back rube*
There are just some parts in some games that you probably shouldn't play around most people.

Yup. While "too girly" or "too manly(?)" are things that don't normally put me off, I can understand that sentiment. In recent years I've come to strongly dislike things that are "too kiddy(??)". If the main characters are below 20, that's a game I'll have a hard time getting into, if at all (It largely depends on the setting as well). For example, everybody keeps recommending me the Persona series like if it is the next best thing since sliced bread, but I just can't get past the anime high-school social drama vibes. *shudders*
So yeah, while I'd like to echo the suggestion to at least play FFX-2 for its battle system, that's probably not gonna change any minds.
In their defense, you're a rather, uhm, 'polarizing' personality. And you could have phrased things in a different way. But still... QFT!

why does that have to be an issue? can't people have tastes without anyone getting offended?

I'd play Persona 3 if your not a fan of "kiddy" games. The game has a really good balance of funny and serious and, despite the fact the almost all the important characters are below the age of 20, there are plenty of serious characters that aren't stick-in-the-muds. I enjoyed persona 4 more, but I prefer the slice-of-life/fun theme the game had.

I still don't get exactly why this is. Especially nowadays, I'm just making games and shooting the shit about random topics like everyone else here. I've just been doing it longer than most.

but all I said was
am i the only one here who thought X-2 was too "girly" to consider playing it?
i mean shit is fucking dress up, right?
that's not meant as like an attack on the game or anyone who play it...it just kind of is a girly dress up game...i mean that's just kind of objectively accurate.
I only watched Sailor Moon when I was a little kid, but I totally dig it now. I can totally handle the "girliness" evident in FFX-2, what I hated was that goddamned massage mini-game. And Brother. I love FF13-2, and it has "girliness" coming out of its ears, in fact that's what I like about it - the ultra cheese girl-centric vibes.
What I really can't handle as others have said, is when a game is too child-oriented - and condescending at that. Ni No Kuni... goddamn.

Not much of a difference. Persona 1 or 2 would be the thing to go, although I can't recommend them that much.
I think it's fine. I was taken aback, but got into it. If you can't, then that's just not your cup of tea.
But so much about sequels : D
