Jin, I felt I made a mistake in my judgement of you, so I apologized. I really didn't mean anything negative in my second post, I was only admitting I was wrong.

Liberty, I would never bully or belittle anyone on here purposefully. I felt at the time that I was being respectfully blunt. Then I felt like a dick. So, lesson learned.

I don't think it's necessary to rewrite every friendly character to be a combatant, just so the player can control them for twenty minutes. They're not fighters and they don't need to be. Especially in a game like FF7 where every character plays identically in 99% of circumstances. Who's in your party already barely matters at all.

If it were up to me, I'd actually be more likely to make Aeris, Cid, Red XIII and Cait Sith into non-playable characters. They can still join the party, but there's no reason for them to fight. They serve perfectly good purposes in the party even if they never join in battles, and turning them into extra clones of the other party members frankly cheapens their more important roles.


Cid and Caith Sith. Didn't use either of those. Red XIII was kinda cool, and Aeris pretty much for her limit.

Personally though, if you're gonna make a remake of FF7, go ahead and do it straight or make it better. Unless you can come up with limits for these guys (probably don't need all tiers). That said, you get consumed with side ideas, and never finish the maps and storyline, that's nonsense.

Do do this project you will need not only a mastery level understanding of RPG Maker but also a basic level scripting ability. You don't even have a basic level understanding of RPG Maker.

It's time to step up and learn everything, or go home and be a family man.
I was just messing with you dude, lol. Chill. :) I know how to use rpg maker, but I do admit I have a lot to learn still.

I mean, don't get me wrong, I don't want you to stop. I'm just an asshole.

I want you to get better, so that you end up making a game that actually feels like a 2D version of FF7, instead of a game that feels like a default RPG Maker game with the plot of FF7.
