WHAT ARE YOU WATCHING?
Posts
Pretty evident what goes on here.
Tell us what you're watching! Be it anime, Let's Play, movies, shows, cartoon, newgrounds animation, etc. Post a link to information/where to watch it if you can, and maybe your thoughts on it!
Me, I'm watching a few things.
The Interview
(I'll let you find a way to get your paws on this one)
Hidden Kingdoms
You can find this baby on Netflicks!
Stephen Fry narrates an epic recapturing of life for a small rodent or small critter in the world. What sold this show for me, was the Scorpion Mouse in episode 1's howl. I've never laughed so hard at nature.

I think you might need a substance abuse to truly love this, but it's alright. I think by now we know what to expect from Rogen.
A couple of celebrities (who are also stoners) attempt to assassinate Kim Jong-un.

I just got done watching Jeopardy. Next will probably be a big ol' heaping helping of Game Grumps.
Good topic idea! Hidden Kingdoms sounds baller, I love me a good documentary.
I have been watching a truckload of Brickroad's Let's Plays, interspersed with Deceased Crab's newest LP of Freedom Planet.

All hail the few remaining classic, quality Let's Players. It's truly a deeply infected artform.
Brickroad is always good, and I'm only recently catching up with a lot of the stuff I missed during my period of not watching him. I've been avoiding his Parasite Eve playthrough because I want to experience that game for myself at some point.
DC is of course the god-king of Let's Playing, forever and always. The Freedom Planet series came as a surprise, as I remember saving early art from the project off of TiGSource. I may pick the game up at some point, it looks really fun and some of the characters are pretty dang attractive looking, even in the face of the chibi-fied art. It also has what I'd consider the best voice acting I've seen so far in an indie title.
I should also bring up my recent binge of watching Mountain Climbing documentaries. I fucking love the idea of mountaineering (though sadly lack the time, money or freedom to really get into it). I'm especially enamored with K2. The documentaries I recall watching are as follows:
Ghosts of K2 deserves special mention, it's one of my favourite documentaries. It kicked ass (not to imply that the others didn't, but there's something really special about this that I can't pin down):

I literally just finished watching the last episode of Leverage. For the second time. In six months. It's a great series. I'm sad its over. Hell, I cried again.
It's about a thief, grifter, hacker, hitter and mastermind who pull down The Man (various big name companies and other conpeople) on behalf of the little guy. It's really good if you like found-families, fun, quirky personalities and sticking it to the man. Also, clever plans. It's become one of my favourite TV shows.
5 seasons, from 13-20 episodes a season, it's decent length.
Also been watching a lot of Yogscast but that's a given. I love the group dynamic and most of them are a lot of fun. I dunno, I like zany personalities I guess.
For those not in the know, it's a fairly large group of British LPers who mainly play Minecraft and are made up of various whackos. The most well-known of the group are the headliners, Simon and Lewis (or BlueXephos and Honeydew) but there are a bunch of others like Kim, Duncan, Sips, Sjin, Rythian, Hannah, Will Strife, Zoeya, Panda, Strippin, and a few others. Hatfilms (a group of three even crazier guys) joined them about a year ago.
Basically they're a bunch of loony friends who took their love of game and made something of it. I love 'em. Especially Kim and Hannah and Simon and Lewis and Duncan and Sjin and... >.<;
Here's a few of their channels. If you check the Channels tab you can find all the groups channels
Lewis and Simon: https://www.youtube.com/user/BlueXephos - doubles as the main channel. Simon is a card and a half. Lewis is the straight man.
Hannah: https://www.youtube.com/user/yogscast2 - Plays a lot of games outside of Minecraft too. Does Fright Night with Kim.
Kim: https://www.youtube.com/user/yogscastkim - can get a bit squealy but is so cute it's not funny. X3
Sips: https://www.youtube.com/user/YogscastSips - a truly magnificent bastard. Check out his Skyrim LP for much hilarity. Plays more non-Minecraft lately.
Will: https://www.youtube.com/user/Linkthe1st - Tends to get more in-depth when it comes to mods.
Hatfilms: https://www.youtube.com/user/HaatFilms - Impossible to contain. They're madness incarnate. Slowly growing on me. Mix them with Sjin or Sips for extra crazy.
Rythian: https://www.youtube.com/user/YogscastRythian - If you like Minecraft, check out the Blackrock Chronicles.
Actually, a note about the groups' Minecraft series. There's an interwoven thread through their main series. Often they all play on the same server and there's a sort-of storyline that weaves its way through their interactions. They have rivalries inside the Minecraftia world and allies, there's clone theories, future and past events, many different things going on.
Then there's Shadow of Israphel, which many fans want to come back (and it has been said that much of what has been going on in the main storyline can lead back to the series). You can catch up on that story here: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLF60520313D07F366
Every Christmas they also do an almost-month-long livestream event to raise money for charities. Last year they raised $1,104,882.09 for Fauna & Flora International, MSF/Doctors Without Borders, End Polio Now, SpecialEffect, and Oxfam.
What did you do with your Christmas? >.<;;;

Jeremy Kyle.
Uh...
Olive Kitteridge. Fantastic acting, interesting and depressing characters, music is not amazing but it is not too annoying either - plus there's the promise of Bill Murray in a future episode. Awww yeah.

My two favourite shows right now are:
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2012 series) It is very awesome, as both an homage to the original cartoon and movies and comic books, but it is also its own thing. A lot of clever writing, funny jokes, pop culture references and nods, with some good storylines and great animation. Highly recommend it to anyone who has even a passing interest in TMNT.
Brooklyn Nine-Nine a comedy cop show starring Andy Semberg (of SNL and The Lonely Island fame), with other greats like Terry Crews and Chelsea Peretti. It is produced by the same people who made Parks & Recreation. Very funny and goofy, with a fantastic rapport between the actors. If you liked Scrubs or Parks & Recreation, you'll probably like Brooklyn Nine-Nine. It is of the same ilk.

The First season of Shameless. It was too addictive and I started acting like Frank. Had to stop it.
Next thing I have on program is Féminin/Féminin. It looks superb and they speak french. And It's recent topic on RMN.

author=suzy_cheesedreamsI just started watching Brooklyn Nine-Nine, and I'm loving it.
The same people making Parks & Rec (if it's still running?) and Brooklyn Nine-Nine made The Office (U.S.), too.
Just watched Old People React to GTA5. Funnies.
Also finished watching Big Hero 6 finally...
Wow, it was such a let down. Both as a Disney movie and a super hero film. There were touching moments and great ideas/designs, but as a whole... It was like, down there with Black Cauldron. I loved Black Cauldron for what it was, and this has merits. End of the day it felt like a rushed generic super hero flick with flat, empty characters, and a cute robot pal. Maybe I wasn't in the mood for it? My friends loved it for some reason!

How it was nominated and LEGO Movie wasn't is a travesty. LEGO Movie was the best movie of 2014.

Yeah, I mean... it had FEELS, that's about it! The story and characters were entirely flat, aside the damn robot and kid. The story was entirely predictable. Like, figured it out within the first fifteen minutes. Pacing was terrible. I just cannot emphasize how bad that movie was. I mean even the title was slapdash. I know it's a comic book and the name is clad in iron, but there is no reasoning for "Big Hero 6" it just... yeah that's our name.
LEGO Movie however, also has feels, strong characters, nonstop laughs, a great story, and is a visual treat. Big Hero 6 was like a fastforward through beautiful scenery. Sadness! Hollyweird sucks at awards.
I just finished rewatching katekyo hitman reborn and I'm now watching Durarara season 2, akagi, and kaiji
they are all anime.
they are all anime.
Hm... started watching Haven and I'm enjoying it so far. I was looking for a good law drama (I might try Brooklyn Nine-Nine next) and couldn't find one. (Tried something called Damages - a bit too slow for my liking, I'm afraid, and it didn't hook me in though it's had some glowing reviews. Oh well.)
Lol, the last thing I remember watching was the Canucks and Ducks hockey game last night before falling asleep on the couch after the second period was over. I woke up a little while later and found that we got crushed 4-0 in the end. Despite Kassian’s hit from behind on Patrick Maroon and Hansen bumping into the goalie penalty, I can’t really remember anything else other than that. It was a pretty boring game.
Other than that, the last thing I watched on T.V. was an old 1960’s movie entitled “Elmer Gantry”. It was pretty good for an old movie, I really liked it. Not as good as something like Gone With The Wind – but still pretty overall enjoyable.
I don't really watch a lot of movies that much anymore, but once in a while I enjoy a good shindig.

Speaking of old movies, an excellent film I watched not long ago was A Face in the Crowd, a 1950s satire on America & the advent of television culture. It blew my damn pants off. And until watching this, I really had no idea Matlock and Andy Griffith were the same person.
Girl with Green Eyes is great too, though with completely different subject matter - a very sweet & intelligently written May/December romance with both characters being fully fleshed out and likeable as opposed to making the older dude some sort of sleazy bastard, which is a common route for these films to take.
