Oh that looks beautiful! Is that a dalek xD?
Hello everyone :) i just found this topic, so I know I'm pretty late for the Marsh submission, but I hope I'll be forgiven :) it's just a fragment of the map, as the original is pretty large:

That looks beautiful! But it looks kinda more like a swamp really, but it's beautiful!
Why, thank you :) I don't know the difference between a swamp and a marsh, English is not my first language. My maps are usually huge, so here's a different one:

"Wastelands", huh?

The difference = Swamp is a dark, gloomy place.A marsh is a flat area with lots of water holes around.(Hope I explained it right, english is not my first language either)

Whoa. Whoa! Very very nice. I like that they're parallaxed and they're done beautifully. Honestly, they're looking very very exceptional. Bravo! I'd like to see what kind of game you could drum up. Do you have any existing games? A brief Google search of your username returned no useful results.
Well, thank you :) I suffer from too many ideas, which is, I guess, a common condition among the community - I start a lot of projects and never finish any of them. I was working on a psychological horror game, kinda like Silent Hill (maps are non-parallaxed), and got a lot of work done, but, again, I never finished it. It was named "The Dark Side". I think its topic it can still be found somewhere. I enjoy making maps more now, because they're easier to finish than projects.

How about now?

Still not.It takes me here:

You could upload them as pictures I guess.I don't think there is a rule against big images.

These are, again, only parts of actual maps. My exteriors usually don't go below 1600x1600 :v

Oh yes, that's a marsh.I love your parallax maps!
The desert,it looks good but I don't like the rocks very much. They don't blend in with the rest of the graphics.
Yeah, the desert is kinda derpy, I suppose I could have put more effort into it :/

Nice maps, guys.
I especially appreciate ESBY's Fallout thing as he has some neat custom tiles. These trees are excellent.
Nice parallaxes,Grim. And 1600x1600 i can't imagine such a big map. Isn't that bigger map than the Skyrim's one?

Here is my Wasteland, using Mac and Blue. I konw these cliff are floating on the surface. Still I want to know what do you think? Cuz my feelings about it are mixed. Is it too empty? Is it too green for a wasteland?

I'll be posting one more map made with Ace as soon as I finish it.

That has got really nice depth, Cap. Lots of interesting cliffs, I wouldn't make it more busy. It's already very busy, but not too busy, it's just right.

That rock island in the middle of the water looks a little unnatural. I think it's the perfectly square top and left edges.

Also, it's probably a tileset issue, but the top corners of those cliff portions lack connecting parts. I'll illustrate what I mean.

It's probably because such a tile doesn't exist and it doesn't matter that much, because this is just a test map, but if this was a real map I'd edit dat tileset, yo.

The grass patches on the cliffs are a nice touch.

I think I like that the path isn't too straight. It's the right amount of planned and natural. The dirt patches look great too, I must say. Good composition.

Actually, there are corners for these tops. I made this map yesterday and was for no rational reason convinced, that I can't use these. I've just noticed that one of the sidelines is missing too.
I'm relatively new to mapping, but here's a saloon!

The room was too big to put the whole thing in game, so here's the map in edittor + the lighting which I added through edits.

I'll probably do the other topics later when I have the time, especially the clocktower one which requires pixelling.
Move the cabinets down one tile. Since you can see the tops of them you can very easily tell that they have depth, so as they currently stand they are basically floating on the walls. It looks ridiculous. XD

Don't worry, its a mistake most people make when they start mapping. Just remember that anything with depth should be set a tile below the wall. Also, while I understand (and applaud!) what you were trying to do with the shelves at the bottom of the map, being overlaid by the wall, the way they're placed would have them being inaccessible. A good idea is to free up some space on a tileset and use only the tops (that is, not showing the shelves at all, by editing them on the tileset) or edit the tile to have a blank back for the cupboards.

That said, good job on the shift map usage and getting the heights right for the walls. Most people trip up on those things. >.<)b You have a pretty neat little saloon~

Yeah I like that, but the rocks seem to be floating on the lake.If they went inside the lake,it could've looked better.

I love that shading! Also,I do agree with Liberty and tbh I don't really like to see shelves or paintings on the lower tile of the wall but I do respect what you did since if you made it one tile higher you wouldn't be able to use the candleabra(Did I spell that right?I did hear the word a lot before but it is actually the first time I'm ever spelling it).Other than that,I love the light effects!I also like the tilesets you used.I also like the speech baloons(Muhahaha)but why is that old man suprised?Did the man poison him or something? xD

***Edit***
This just pumped into my mind. Why don't we have two themes each week?Or maybe open another thread called ''Maps Daily!''?I really like mapping and I like to do it even more when there is a theme.Man it's really annoying how you need to wait a full week...
Even though this is only my second week I already fell in love with this thread.

CapH - I used the DS resource packs, no custom resources outside of a few small edits.
