Hello everybody! Welcome to RMN Review Club! I guess I should explain this.

So this is at its core much like a book club; a game is chosen or decided on...

Then we take a week and play it whether it be all the way through, as far as you can get, or as much as your schedule lets you...

Then we discuss the game to our heart's delight!

(I'm not completely sure about this yet) I may also compile our thoughts and opinions into an Official review Club review to be posted on the game's review page

So if you're interested then come on and join!

This is a really cool idea! I don't think I have time to commit to it, though, as I'm spending most of my time making games :3
Well, there will be a need for games to play, so you're still contributing by making games!

Same here, I might join but I wouldn't have the time. I mean, writing reviews is hard work as it is. Having to commit to writing them on a regular basis would be very stressful for me. That said, the more reviews the better, so I wish you all the best!
I'll give it a go. No promises but I'll try!

(I need to get into playing more of the games on the site. I've let it fall by the wayside, sadly. This might help me with that.)

As for suggestions about games, how ones that don't have reviews (since they could really do with them.)

Same as Liberty here.
Give me my membreship card, but don't expect anything from me except drinking tea with milk while reading comments of the others. I probly get to play majority of your picks, however my comments will be rather brief.

You know, I could always increase the play time to more than a week...

I'm fairly interested in this. Though, the question that comes to my mind is, would games be discussed in a one-right-after-another situation, or would there be some kind of recess before talking on a new subject?
For example, we play Gourd's RTP game(Not that we are, that has at least one review)

We play then after a chosen amount of time we take time and discuss it until we feel we've talked about as much as we can and/or want to...

Then we choose a new game(I plan to provide a list for this)

And the cycle restarts

I would actually be interested in joining, but I get the feeling you won't even need to sign up official "members" per se, Mr_SuNa. What you can do is just announce a game, and whoever wants to review and discuss it, they can.

I kinda like Cash's proposal! That's just me, though.
I considered that

Kinda goes against the club part of the name though...

I'll give it a try

At least, let's vote for a gameWhy? Because I wanna

List:
Power
Hatred: A Christmas Story
I Dreamt Of Vengeance
Game Master
Evil Dawns

Basically click the name to visit the page and read what it's about then choose which most interests you, whatever gets most votes is what we play.
Which game should we do first (I tried to mix it up a bit while finding ones that don't have reviews yet. Not as hard as I first thought it was going to be)

True :)

I'm just going to discuss my opinion of each option first...

  • POWERis a printable board game for 2-4 players, and I don't think I have the resources to print that kind of board game, plus I don't think I want to ask my bro to play this game because he hates board games. I think it'll be a bit of a difficulty to ask people to play this game.
  • Hatred: A Christmas Storycontains very sensitive material that may offend some people. You basically shoot up an entire town as Santa for no good reason. That said, it could provoke some deep discussion about morality and violence in video games.
  • I Dreamt of Vengeance's synopsis seems pretty good. Don't know how long it is, though, or what the quality is like.
  • Game Master. I've played through about 30 minutes of this previously and this game is decent so far. I would love to play further in this game even if it doesn't get chosen.
  • Evil Dawnswas reviewed by nhubi and shayoko and they said they wouldn't recommend it to anyone so, I guess it might be a healthy experience going into a game that's not so great, but at the same time I don't want to hurt myself.

My vote goes to Game Master, because it's fun and I want to be able to discuss its interesting design, which is very unique indeed. The game is also unencrypted. It uses original ideas and it's a game ripe for discussion, which may improve the way games are made in the future. Also I just want people to play it coz it's a good game (so far), lol. So yeah. Game Master's my vote.

I cannot argue with the opinions of a cat made of cashmere, so Game Master me.
- Power, as much as I'd love to play since it's different, is a no-go for me. I don't have a printer (well, I do. It just thinks it's a fax for some reason and won't be dissuaded from believing so. We've since accepted it's chosen lifestyle and stopped trying to change it (wow, does that sound horrible)).

- Hatred is pretty short (15 minutes tops) which might be a plus because more people could play it and have their say, but it's a bit of a gimmicky game with no real gameplay aside from kill, kill, kill (pretty much). It's the COD of RM games. ;p

The other two are kinda bleh to me. Not really interesting. I do like the look of Game Master, though. It's got a polished feel so I'm all for that one.

So, yeah, I'm going with cashkitty for this one.
My vote is for Game Master as well

As far as Power is concerned, I uh kinda missed the words "Printable Board Game"
Out of curiosity can we add this game to our list?

It looks rather interesting, but also at the same time, kind of short. I think it'd be fun and interesting to play, though.
Oh God that game. ;.;
I've an LP and sound recording of playing that game.

I wouldn't mind revisiting it some time, though.
