FINAL FANTASY: RECORD KEEPER

LockeZ
I'd really like to get rid of LockeZ. His play style is way too unpredictable. He's always like this too. If he ran a country, he'd just kill and imprison people at random until crime stopped.

Why would other dungeons have to go up? They can just put in Mount Ordeals at difficulty 10 in between Fabul Catle and Baron Castle, that doesn't require changing anything else.

Or it can be harder if they want - like difficulty 20 or 30. There are already a few other places where the difficulty doesn't go in order. The non-elite versions of Tower of Babil-Depths (FF4) and Castle Fynn (FF2) are easier than the dungeons right before them, as are LOTS of elite dungeons.

The full list of places they skipped because of events and should probably go back and add is:
- Sector 7 Pillar Support (FF7)
- Shinra HQ (FF7)
- Lete River (FF6)
- Magitek Factory (FF6)
- Mount Ordeals (FF4)
- Steamship (FF5)
- Pulse Vestige (FF13)
- Galbadia Parade (FF8)
I didn't even realize those dungeons were skipped--it's been so long.

If my calculation is accurate, I'll be three mythril short of being able to pull on both FF9 banners. With that in mind, I'm really not sure which one to go for. I'm currently leaning towards the second banner because I'd love to get Eiko's flute and any other mage weapons I can grab.

I picked up my second favorite FF6 character in the last batch of dungeons: Gau. And he kind of sucks. Other than the obvious lack of a memory crystal, he's also really limited on equipment and abilities. If he were like the greatest Celerity user possible then it'd be fine. I mean, Drunk Cecil is another really one-dimensional character but he's the -best- Combat user in the game--only second to Sephiroth in Attack and beats him in weapon and armor selection and general survivability.

jude, did you factor in next week's winter gift?

No. Forgot about that. It's +5 Mythril, right? That will work out swimmingly, then.

Oh, I unlocked Viking's RM2 which seems kind of neat. Changes Attack to Charge... always. Probably a good one to throw on Pretty Cecil when I fill his slots with tanking and white magic. Whenever I do daily dungeons I just go down the list of which RMs I haven't unlocked yet, but didn't pay much attention to what Viking's was until it flashed on the screen. I was hoping to get FuSoYa's yesterday, which is basically Mana Spring and Concentration 2 rolled into one, but wasn't so lucky.

Did my 50-mythril pull: got a 5-star Zorlin Shape (FF9) and my third Warrior Sword (FF10). I thought for sure I got nothing because the animation didn't do that explosive bwong sound that it does for soulbreaks, so even if the item sucks it was an emotional ride. I am like the King of Daggers now. I have 5-star daggers in FF4, FF5, FF8, FF9, and FF12. I stand by the idea that it's good to have s strong dagger in every realm. Whether or not I pull on the next banner will probably depend on whether or not I've tried the bonus battles yet. I dislike not using a new item right away, so if I don't have any bonus battles to complete then I'll probably save my mythril.

Nothing reveals Humanity so well as the games it plays. A game of betrayal, where the most suspicious person is brutally murdered? How savage.

So Beatrix is another Pecil, it seems. I don't think I'm going to use her, then. Pecil's Rampart soul break is pretty useful.
I think Beatrix is pretty interesting. She's got better magic and offense than Pretty Cecil but is less resilient. Like Cecil, her default limit break is conditionally good. Cecil's is good if you aren't bringing Stoneskin or Sentinel's Guard. Beatrix's is good if she has a +Mind weapon. Both conditions are pretty uncommon, though. I don't have unique gear for either character, but I'll use Cecil outside of FF9 because he can reach higher levels, while Beatrix will probably remain in FF9 when I need a paladin, and that's unlikely. I have only a 4++ and 5-star dagger, so I don't have weapons to support a bunch of physical characters. Magic damage has a lower stat requirement to be reasonable and both Eiko and Garnet can cover white magic buffs while dropping nukes.

Yeah, Pecil just does everything I want and mine is high-level from being used in a wide variety of comps. For newer players like Jeroen though, I say just pick your favorite of the two.

Pecil's big advantages are Rampart and his ability to back-row tank. Beatrix has better healing potential and some spellblades for weakness requirements/way more damage, as far as I can tell.

edit: beatrix has no spellblades, so i take it back. i can't see a reason to use her over pecil unless you have her relic.

I have Cecil's shield that gives +30 willpower, and it helps her more than it helps Cecil. I think she might be useful for people who don't have an AOE healing relic, just so you can get an emergency second heal.

You'd think having one of Cecil's unique limit breaks would make Cecil more useful, not Beatrix. But no. There is literally no situation where Sentinel is ever useful.

Yeah. I like the Draw X abilities, but I'd rather use those instead of a 30s soul break that has to fill up. (I have Lustrous Shield as well.)
Ha. You will hate me. I just did my daily draw and got Aeris's Aurora Rod. That's two 5-star relics in about a week.

i'm gonna hate you until you remake/finish necropolis now.

i think i'm gonna do an 11-pull on penelo banner 1 for all the weird weapons (mind spear, magic sword), and then save up for FFT and Yuna's BSSB. I won't cry if I won't get MIND GUNS but I'd like to have them just because I like Yuna and she's my best white mage. FFT i don't care about as a game but Ramza's so broken that I wouldn't mind some relics.
That +5 mythril was enough to allow me to pull right away. Got a Pinwheel (FF9), Power Sash (FF9), another Zorlin Shape (FF9), and a Variable Steel (FF10). No mage weapons from the mage banner, but no complaints. Second time I've gotten four 5-stars in a single draw.

Oh, nice. Power Sash has Protectga. So now I have a Shellga (FF10 Emerald Bracer) and Protectga limit break when I need help filling out my defensive buffs.

how did you get an ff10 5* weapon????

how did you get an ff10 5* weapon????

Beats me. It's definitely not the first time I've gotten 5-stars that aren't on the banner. I get FF7 gear way too often, and got an FF6 shield during the Golbez event.

At a game jam so I won't get to the bonus battles until Monday morning at the earliest.

Well, it looks like Garnet's going to become my new healer. I just pulled her rod twice in one pull.

Although, I guess I'm supposed to use her as a summoner, aren't I. She's a rod user, after all.

You're still getting ~100 Mind from that 6* Asura Rod. =P

Looking ahead at JP, Basch has a banner with everything I want from the Penelo event on it... with none of what I don't want. Guess I'll save my 50 myth for that, or maybe drop it on Kefka.
Just started playing this last night. I was just screwing around but got hooked and ended up playing for about 3 hours haha

It's all extremely easy except for Boss battles which are just regular easy, but I'm sure it will change later on.

I'm curious, is there any tips for someone starting out? I've just been unlocking new areas, making a few things, and doing the daily dungeons. Oh and pulling the daily relic thing, or whatever its called. When should I do the events?

Yeah, I saw the mind stat wasn't too shabby. I'm having a lot of fun with Eiko and Garnet both going full Diaga-mode right now.

Link_2112: You can do the first couple battles of the event right now. It'd be good to go ahead and do since you'll get some nice rewards, maybe even a character. If it gets too hard though, go back to normal dungeons. The events only stay around for two weeks and then disappear, so take a stab at them and see how far you can get.

I wouldn't bother with the daily dungeons very much until you've been playing for a while longer. They're the same every week so you're not gonna miss them, and the rewards aren't as good as other dungeons.

For the first time, I've beaten a 99 difficulty event boss. There's no way I can do the bonus battles, although I'll try the first one, but I'm still pretty pleased with myself. It does help that the thing was weak to holy and I had two Diaganukers on my party, I guess.

Edit: I was able to beat the 99 difficulty bonus battle with help of 1 mythril, but I wasn't able to master it. Seems like that is the furthest I'll get. Banishing Strike seems like an interesting ability, but I'm not sure if I have space on it on Cecil, I definitely don't on Gilgamesh, and most bosses don't use buffs, so...
Still happy I got through a bonus battle, though.
