[DESIGN] STAGE SELECT SCREEN

Howdiho!

So while I still got the title screen on the backburner for a while, I decided to give the stage select a shot.

The idea is to reproduce something which Megaman players will be familiar with:

I don't want to go ahead too much before the design is set in stone so that I don't do the same thing 15 times like for the title screen.

This is the concept I have right now:

So, of course, the idea is to have Pan look at the selected stage.

Is the setup ok? Do you think I should go ahead and detail the living shit out of that Stage Select screen?

Please accept my salutations and most beneficial blessings.
No black outlines in background stuff.
The question marks are a bit wonky, and the level names are in too small text. Do some kind of text effect and make it bigger, like for example tilting it towards the screen at the bottom.
The background is kinda bland. Make it interesting by making it feel more like a scene, or that something is happening in the background. If you're going for a computer/tech look, here's a good example:
Looks great, but you could do like Snowowl said and make it more intresting.
Or like a HQ (like megaman x5).
Why not take your theme and run with it? Make them toasters instead? Or have a pan that's a pie chart where you select the pieces or anything beyond the thing everyone else uses for their game? You've got an interesting theme for the game, use it!
Thanks for the replies.

@Milennin: Good point, will fix that.

@Snowold: Question marks are placeholders (but I should've mentioned that, my bad). Will give your suggestions a shot, especially the text size.

@Liberty: Well, I'm worried people will get fed up with having toasters crammed everywhere. Also, if I put toaster for the boss boxes, I won't have anything to put to fill in the background. I don't understand the pie chart thing unfortunately.

Ok, I'll try to think of another concept then. I just have no ideas at the moment, no creative ideas anyway.
Well, I was thinking a pan - you know, like a frying pan? And a pie chart is basically a pizza, divided up. So you'd use the 'slices' as them.

You could use toast? That would still fit the theme well enough and be a side-step from the toaster, while still maintaining the theme. One step further, you could have names for each depicting their difficulty, like 'Lightly buttered' vs "Cheese and tomato' vs 'Strawberry jam' vs 'Egg, bacon and cheese'.

I'm making myself hungry.
So, I've fixed pretty much what everything mentioned.

I did some test but couldn't find anything really convincing for something groundbreaking so I stuck to my original format albeit I did change a lot of things.

Here it is:

Anything else or have I reached perfection?
