LET'S DISCUSS FALLOUT 4 - SPOILERS (OBVIOUSLY)
Posts
I just named my pistol 'The Fuck-off Gun' (also another called 'Devastator'). Simple but says a lot. ;p
Due to the bug I have on my personal save that won't let me use my pipboy when outside of Power Armour, I am unable to equip any new armour, thus I have been stuck with a few new pieces just taking up inventory space. I tried to unbug the pipboy by using a stealth pack, but that didn't work (I figured, since it's invisible it might 'snap back' to visibility when the stealth pack ran out, but alas, no luck). I've also tried various tips from online, but nope. Stuck wearing old armour.

I went to sleep in Sanctuary. When I woke up, there was a ghoul lady sleeping in my bed.
I don't know what happened that night, and I'm not sure I want to know.
EDIT: Did you know you can use HTML tags when naming items? Use <i> and <\i> when adding tags. That's pretty neat.

so about 2-3 weeks ago I lost all interest in this game and abruptly stopped playing it for as far as I could tell no discernible reason
has this happened to anyone else?
am I going to die?

Dude, this happened to me too.
Literally just stopped playing it 2-3 weeks ago
No real reason either, haven't touched it since :/
Same, but I blame Undertale and being busy (and then getting Zestiria). Undertale fucked me over (since I was doing a double-LP where I did Undertale one day and Fallout 4 the next) and because of that I just haven't wanted to do any LPing recently. I'm sure I'll get back into it shortly - it's not that I don't want to play, I just have been distracted.
Yeah, between work and freetime I've actually been devoting a lot of my time working on my games rather than playing any games. So I guess it's a good thing for productivity

Update on my ghoul situation: I returned to Sanctuary to find my bed clear of that serial ghoul cuddler. Happy that I'm in no fear of having my face chewed off, I sleep in my bed to recover.
Upon waking up, I find, who else, that ghoul girl standing over me. I don't even get a chance to escape before she starts talking. Turns out she wants me to travel to a nearby ruin and clear out the feral ghouls nested there.
... She could have just asked. I'd have been happy to do it. Is she incapable of asking things normally?
I think this is the beginning of a bad rom com anime.

You, uh, you do know you can assign beds to people, right? That way they won't jump in your bed anymore. To do so, just enter build mode, click on a person to assign them a job, then click on a bed. ;p
Also, always remove the fusion core from your power armour or others will try to take it. >.<;

Huh. I never thought to try assigning them to beds. I had them assigned to everything else, but at the time I thought that assigning them to beds would cause them to stop what they were doing and sleep. I didn't want them sleeping. I wanted them working. I'm a good dictator.
So yeah. I cleared out the ghouls (all two of them. Wow what a massive nest they've built up) and reported in. After assigning all the settlers to beds, I can now rest my weary head at night without fear of being dry humped by a zombie.
And thus, the tale of the serial ghoul cuddler draws to a close. T'was quite the gripping story.

I know that. I mostly avoid going to settlements so that I don't accidentally get dragged into a quest that I don't wanna do :P

I think this game is trying to tell me I'm going to die alone.
A couple of days ago, I cleared out Trinity Tower with Nick Valentine and unlocked Strong as a potential follower. Deciding to give Fawkes 2.0 a try, I sent Nick Valentine back to his detective agency and forged off elsewhere. Quickly finding him lacking, I parted ways with Strong and went back to Diamond City to go pick up Nick again. He had a lot of stuff I gave him anyway, so it was a good time to sell my haul and upgrade my gear.
Except Nick wasn't in his office for some reason.
I talked to a friend who was also playing the game, and he said that NPCs didn't fast travel like I could, so perhaps waiting a day or two ought to do the trick. I questioned the validity of that claim, seeing as A) waiting and sleeping teleported NPCs around the world just fine, B) Trinity Tower was not that far off from Diamond City, and C) I had been doing enough stuff for Nick to make it back on his own. But lacking any other quick fix, I decided to give it a try. I fast traveled back to Sanctuary, sleep in my bed for a couple of days (without being struck by the serial ghoul cuddler!) and fast traveled back to Diamond City. Surely that was enough time for him to make it back!
Nope. He still wasn't there.
I got really concerned at that point, so I roped Piper along and we mounted a second search and rescue for our mutual friend. We traced the path from Trinity Tower back to Diamond City with no luck. Where was Nick, I thought, Why isn't he around anymore? What happened to him? Will I ever see my synth bro again?
But there was one last ray of hope for me. Before Nick's disappearance, I unlocked his personal quest: Find the holotapes of Eddie Winter. I reasoned that, if I could track down all ten holotapes, there would be a quest marker pointing me straight to Nick! With renewed determination, Piper and I tracked down the holotapes one by one. After the final tape, my theory was proven right. A new objective of talking to Nick appeared and a quest marker showed up on my Pip Boy...
... Right in the middle of the Glowing Sea. What? What in the world was Nick doing there? Whatever. For my artificial friend, I would go to any lengths.
So I donned my Power Armor, parted ways with Piper (for the sake of immersion, you see. I didn't want to bring a human into the Glowing Sea even though I haven't tested to see if followers can take radiation damage) and set off to Nick's location. When I got there, though, Nick was nowhere to be found. At this point, my confusion was through the roof. I checked my Pip Boy to find something quite unsettling. While I was at the exact coordinates for Nick, the quest marker showed that Nick was... above me.
Well, this is the Glowing Sea, so there's not many opportunities for elevation. Based on the evidence presented, Nick going way too far out of his way when he should have gone back home and an impossible elevation level, it seems thta Nick has glitched out of my world. I can't imagine I'll ever see him again.
First Preston drowns himself, now Nick falls through the world. It seems everyone in Fallout 4 would rather kill themselves than be my friend.
Now I want the serial ghoul cuddler back. I know she just wants me to kill other ghouls for her, but I want someone in the wasteland to at least pretend that they care about me!

Console commands, my friend. Console commands.
Also, count yourself lucky Preston drowned himself because he gets annoying. XD

Is there a console command to repair my broken heart?
Either way, I'm playing on PS4. No console commands.

Oh. Damn. Welp! Sorry. You should make a memoriam in his honour or something. A shrine to the best robo-detective to ever walk the wasteland.
It might be as simple as they never considered using the PC group as 'testers'. It is a smarter idea, that's for sure. Probably all about the money and being able to point to their sale amounts (which are the highest at the initial release, I believe), which would not be as large if the release was over time.
That is, releasing all at once when no-one knows about the game and how it looks/plays is going to draw more people in than if releasing one version, then another at a later date because the later ones will have people knowing how it looks/plays and it's no longer exciting and fresh for everyone any more. Something like that, I'm sure.
