Hm, a sign Nintendo wants the remake on Nintendo NX~?
(But tbh, I squealed a little. XD It's kind of ironic that the reappearance of a 20 year-old-character excited me more than... anything else on the Nintendo Direct.. lol)

I am pretty psyched about this. Not only for the chance to play as Cloud, but also for the stage and music.

Yeah, I know the knee-jerk reaction to this is "LOL SQUARE ENIX CASH COW LOL" but honestly I think this is an organic and cool evolution. Square and Nintendo have been partners since the beginning and this is a great love letter to the fans. That, and within the game itself he looks awesome and he looks like he's great to play as well.
I'm down for some Cloud. It's too out of left field to hate in any way (also it's just a silly game where Pac-Man fights Donkey Kong, so why not Cloud too?)
But Professor Layton or Banjo & Kazooie would be appreciated as well.

This was unexpected! The protagonist of the first Final Fantasy game after Squaresoft had ditched Nintendo....wow.
Maybe this is a sign of Square and Nintendo finally patching things up? If Square finally starts releasing their games on nintendo platforms again(say...on the NX?) I might never have to buy consoles from other companies ever again.
I'm pretty sure this isn't related to the smash ballot, so this is still quite possible.

As for myself, I'm not happy that Cloud is in Smash. As many have already pointed out on the internet, he doesn't have a prominent Nintendo-platform appearance. And although FFVII is not a bad game, I think it's clearly overrated. But I'm not gonna start a holy war cause of it.

I'd really like to get rid of LockeZ. His play style is way too unpredictable. He's always like this too. If he ran a country, he'd just kill and imprison people at random until crime stopped.

author=ZeuzioUhhhh Square "patched things up" with Nintendo over a decade ago. By the time the Square Enix merger happened, that issue was already ancient history. The only reason major Final Fantasy games aren't released on Nintendo consoles is because the Final Fantasy name is synonymous with top-end graphics.
