SAVING CHRISTMAS(ROLEPLAY)

Posts

BRAMP! The train whistle sounded through the valley. The sky was grey, the ground white with a fresh blanket of snow. The train chugged along its iron rails, full of passengers. Written in bright red paint against the faded black color of the cars are the words "Santa Express". The locomotive ran once a year, giving rides to families through the mountains that hovered above a quaint little town. It took them pas the towns and through the valley on the next side and beyond. The ride takes a week to complete, the conductor and the staff of the Santa Express provide entertainment throughout the voyage. All festive and exciting to people of any age. There were cars designated for adults and a car near the back reserved for the young kids. It is in this car, where tables are laid out with coloring books, paints, and other crafts that the journey begins. Some special kids are about to embark on a journey to save the most important day of the year; Christmas, and they have to do it before the train ride comes to an end.

Note(Not necessary to joining, just some thoughts and learning from mistakes here. If you aren't sure about whether or not to join, read this and see if it can convince you.)
This is not the first roleplay I've tried to run. The first, Codex Alera, failed miserably. I wondered why, and eventually came to a conclusion. There was source material none of the participators had read, and I had laid everything out poorly. It became a mess. I have made plans to recitfy that mistake in this go around. The leveling up and character creation is much simpler and customizable. The play should be much more straight forward, because there isn't a whole open world to explore, but only the train, and even then sometimes access won't be allowed to certain areas(Grown ups need their space, after all.). So if you're looking for a good time and to save christmas sign up and give it a try.

Character creation:

Every character is at the ripe old age of seven, imaginations are still high and it is time to save the best holiday of the year.
Motivator: This is where you'll choose one of the following, it will determine your play style. Will you be a goody two shoes or a bully? A suck up or a pyro? Choose one of the following and you'll know!
Obedient
disobedient
brain
brawn
sleuth
liar
cheat
liar
truthful
sarcastic
noble
greedy
Quiet
loud
shy
bold
Paranoid
pyromaniac

Weapon: All the cool kids have a handy dandy weapon at their disposal! What's yours? Choose two below!

Slingshot
pencils(2)
lighter
straw+spitballs
supersoaker
forks(2)
marbles(15)
jacks(15)
Worms(yes, as in the thing that lives in the dirt) (5)
Pet frog(don't forget to name it!)
Hair pins+brush
Trowel
Heavy book

Leveling up: How this works is simple, throughout the train you will find candy canes, choose to eat the candy cane and you will get 5 points to spend on your skills. When you are creating your character, everyone starts at a base of 1 for each skill and can spend 10 points on them, as a start towards how you want to play. This list of skills applies to everyone, no matter your motivator and weapon. Questions? Feel free to ask!

I'm aiming for at least 3-4 people to join, and then we can start! Let's save Christmas!

Players:

Jeroen- Isaac
Ilan- Lily

Nothing reveals Humanity so well as the games it plays. A game of betrayal, where the most suspicious person is brutally murdered? How savage.

Isaac doesn't really like trains, but when his parents decide a ride on the Santa Express is a fun idea for a holiday event, he has no choice but to come. Now he's stuck here with the other children. He hopes one of them is intelligent enough to have a conversation with, because his experience teaches him most kids aren't.
Well, why not?

Lilly - Female
Motivator: Noble
Weapon: Pet Frog Froddo, Marbles

Stats

Backstory: An always upbeat, friendly and caring girl. Today, her grandma took her to a ride in the Santa Express like she always loved to every Christmas. So she's going to try to keep her upbeat persona, despite the sad event that she went through one year ago, in this same day...

--------------

I hope you don't mind me including a little of drama here... :)
Drama is always welcome! Also, you guys get to choose two weapons...
Then I'll grab the Marble set too. I'll upgrade my Aim during the game... XD

Oh, then I'll take the pencils too.
Jowee - Male
Motivator: Disobedient
Weapon: Slingshot, worms

Strength:4
Agility:3
Luck:2
Cuteness:1
intelligence:4
Toughness:1
Aim:1
Charisma:2
Thriftiness:1

Backstory: Jowee is just a little confused. He's confused how adults lie, he's confused why people hurt others intentionally, he's confused why even though no one really knows him everyone seems to care. Is he afraid of being worthless or that he may contain some innate strength that'll allow him to shine above others? Who am I to be strong, talented, happy when so many aren't?

Jowee is looking for a happy ending, but, unfortunately, isn't sure he will get it. Not if Christmas doesn't come. There's no time to waste, and Jowee makes this clear.

(-I wasn't sure what to do for backstory I just wanted someone sassy and hasty and who wants it their way but really quick to hug someone and say sorry and cry all over you if he thinks he wronged you (but then continue on path anyway). I dunno just what I wanted~)
Sam- Male
Motivator: pyromaniac
Weapon: marbles(15), lighter

Stats
Strength:2
Agility:5
Luck:2
Cuteness:1
intelligence:3
Toughness:1
Aim:1
Charisma:3
Thriftiness:1

Backstory:Sam is a normal kid... mostly. okay he may have a unhealthy interest in fire but other wise hes fine i promise! This is the first Christmas his parents chose to do something besides just sit around the house and do nothing so they dragged Sam out on the train so they can go to the adult cart and leave him with a bunch of kids he dose not know, though, it could be worse, at least he has his zipo lighter.

(I think i did this right XD it is only my second RP on here. if you guys have any tips let me know cause i want to get good at this)
Alrighty! We will be starting in a day or two, in the meantime I hope everyone is enjoying the holiday!
I hope everyone enjoyed the holidays, but it is time to get down to business. I get the irony of saving christmas after christmas has come and passed, but on the Santa Express Christmas never ends. So let's begin.

The kid car is crowded and full of energy. Children are running around and getting into whatever is around. The red and green carpet is stained from spills, the walls covered in paint. In the back corner sits a table that is empty. A kid is led into the room by a staff member dressed as an elf. He clutches a book to his chest and stares at the crowd of children. The new arrival spies the table and sits down at it, opening the book. He doesn't sit there very long before a young girl, about his age, walks over with another boy in tow. They sit down at the table and the boy continues staring at the book, trying in vain to read.
There is a racket by the entrance as it opens and two more elf dressed employees drag a kid into the room. They leave him and shut the door. He flips the bird at the door then looks around the room. A smile crossed his face as he spied the table. He sticks his hands in his pockets and whistles as he walks over to the tale and sits down. The original kid sighs and closes his book, giving up on trying to get some mental stimulation from the day.

Okay guys! You're up! Time for some conversing and getting to know each other! Flesh out your characters and what not!

This wagon is so loud. I can't concentrate at all! Are there no adults here?
So we're starting now? Okay then!

"Hey, what's with the long face? You should be happy!"

"I mean, this is the Santa Express! It's like, the happiest train ever! C'mon, I wanna see that smile of yours, I know it's there!"

I move his mouth with my hands in order to try to make a smile out of it.

Stop that! Have you washed your hands? Don't you know there are millions of bacteriae on your hands? I'll get sick!
"Awwww... Why are you being so mean? What's wrong?"

I'm sorry. It's just that I've been reading about the human body and you spooked me. I'm Isaac. What's your name?
"Oh! I'm Lilly, nice to meet you! Sooooo, how are you doing today?"

My dad always forgets about my train sickness, and my mom really wanted to go on the Santa Express at least once, so they took me.
"Well... Maybe you'll have a great time here despite that. After all, as I said, this IS the happiest train ever! ...Ooohh! I know!"

I lean really close to Isaac and I say:

"I should be with you all the day! That way, we could play together and have lots of fun! I could even manage to get a smile from you... So, what do you say?"
