Christmas is all about the presents, I think…

- So, another Christmas has just recently passed and I’m wondering what sort of “gifts” you guys got from all your friends, family, co-workers or secret admirers this year. Did you manage to get everything that you wanted on your list, or was it just another year of getting nothing but five dollars in scratch-n-win tickets and a pair of lush white socks. (I just love that gift.)

Let’s see…I got…

  • A box of liquor chocolates
  • A fifty dollar bill
  • Axe body wash
  • Axe deodorant stick
  • Five dollars in scratch-n-win tickets
  • A mandarin orange
  • Some more candy
  • And a toonie
  • Oh, and tickets to go see the new Star Wars movie tomorrow (NO SPOILERS!!!)

So, yeah, pretty good Christmas this year. No new games or anything like that – but whatevers!

- So what’chu guys get?

(It's socks, isn't it? Lol.)
I got cash, about 2k ($40). And I'm happy about it. Is this a sign of getting old??
Dopple post> checking back, I think I actually received 5k, or 100 bucks.

I got 600$, a Luigi Snapback, a set of bodywash/colonge, a shirt, boxers, lounnging shorts, a pack of assorted Irish beer, an external hard drive, and a record player (which was a shared gift with my Dad).

At 21 I feel like my parents shouldn't be so generous, but I'm not gonna turn gifts down.

Pretty strictly a gaming and tech Christmas this year. A Wacom Intuos Draw, a Playstation 4 with Disney Infinity and a shitload of Star Wars games to go with it, Metal Gear Solid V, and a box of cherry cordials. With my own money, I bought Star Wars: Battlefront, and after about a week, regretted it (Metal Gear and Disney Infinity have monopolized my gaming time).
I got new socks!!! No new underwear, though. I am pretty psyched about the socks. A Megaman amiibo (yes!). Also Monopoly Jr., a couple new ties, a few movies (True Lies, Love Stinks, GoldenEye, Terminator Genisys), 7 Wonders boardgame, a nice golfshirt, and some CAH expansion packs.

The kids got a bunch of lego, so I am psyched about that, too.

But socks!! like 8 pairs!!!

I told my family that I'd prefer to get games by download rather than disc, since I got that external hard drive for my Wii U last year. Consequently, I mostly got Nintendo eShop gift cards (and one for Steam). I will doubtless be using the credit to get Super Mario Maker, Yoshi's Wooly World, and Triforce Heroes, although I'll be hoping to spot them on sale -- I've still got a bit of a backlog to play through anyway. Might get some indie stuff like Runbow too.

I also got several amiibos. They strike me as a mighty expensive way to get tiny expansions to games, but since somebody usually gets me Nintendo-themed toys anyway, I figured I may as well ask for the ones that do give some game interactivity. X) My sister (who is the one who most often does get me the toys) jumped on this to get me Fox, Link, and Zelda amiibos, and my brother and his wife got me a Luigi one. They do at least have functionality in Super Smash Bros. Wii U past just unlocking cosmetic stuff, they activate AI opponents that really do seem to learn habits from playing with you and end up feeling quite different to fight against than ordinary AIs.

On the non-game side, I got the movie Inside Out and plenty of York mint patties, which the gift cards were typically hidden in to make them unrecognizable.
Yoshi's Wooly World turned out to be a great game, even
better than Banjo-Tooie. The Wool yarn texture is quite charming
and appealing to the eye.
Santa also entrusted me a cute little Hog as a new pet.

Nothing reveals Humanity so well as the games it plays. A game of betrayal, where the most suspicious person is brutally murdered? How savage.

I got a lot of kitchen utensils, an iron with ironing board, tons of chocolate, and many different kinds of hot sauces to spice up my food. No games this time, but I'm actually happy about that, since I still have a huge backlog of games to play.
Like kentona I also got 7 Wonders.

And a hairbrush.

Money and possibilities.
Drawings! I didn't expect to get a Marian fanart too.
Then tons of games and Krita. I'm so happy haha. <3
My girlfriend and I did the gift giving between us this year. I got: A ton of cooking and kitchen stuff, since I love to cook, a new jacket, Fallout 4, some books, some socks and T-shirts, and a bunch of other stuff!
Clothes
Xenoblade Chronicles X
Fallout 4
Wheel of Time Books 4-6
Miscellaneous stuff
@ Kentona - I thought you already got a Megaman Amiibo earlier - but going to Hawaii!? Now that’s a sick gift!

Everybody here got some rather cool stuff, it seems…even mawk with his insatiable blood lust. :P
