Trial'd Chaos's fix, implemented it, did some spriting that did not go very well, and then worked on some minor graphical enhancements.
And then found out that the exp system is jacked up, and cursed at the project.

Nothing. It was a write off. Started a map but its impossible to concentrate today thanks to house renovations. Fuck.

I know what that feels like. Not because of stuff going on, just no energy to work on it (which is why I probably get nothing done)

Today's Progress (late)

Demon's Gate
Playtesting! Made some small changes to class given stat growth (mostly slowing down agility growth) so I need a new up to date save. I also need to test the new enemy stats+AI from a few days ago, but I'm not at that part of the game yet.

Some Background Script
Thrown out to be replaced with something less of a headache to implement and to be used. I hate throwing out stuff that works, but oh well that's how it rolls.

I will probably do a Let's Play/Walkthrough of Hero's Realm, since there seems to be some interest in it.
I finally have the class selection event done. It took a confusing amount of labels and self switches and conditional branches, but it's satisfying now that it's finished. Now I can start programming the first area (which I already have mapped).

I've also been scouting out some musical talent on Newgrounds and I've found a few artists who have some good stuff.

I don't have character designs or sprites or anything done. I have no artistic talent, so I'll look to other people for that. It'll be a while before I post an ad profile for the game here.
I made some progress yesterday!
I added monster groups to the database, and accompanying events to the second area (touch encounters). In fact, I have more monster groups ready than monsters that can yet be encountered.
Today i have been currently,

-working on a secret new project.
-creating animations for it.
-Thinking up a cool title.

Total Time Spent Today (so far): 1 hour 15 minutes.

Demon's Gate
Finally redid the character init so it doesn't have to deequip the party at the start of the game (which it had to before due to how I was doing stat gain on level up. Why it wasn't reequipping the party was just terrible apathy)
Stuck on first boss. His pattern isn't very interesting but he can be killed without cheesing him at level 3-4 with the good ol' Attack/Heal strategy.
Enemy drops are accessories that boost one stat by 25. One accessory for every stat. Even agility. What was I thinking? (nerfed to +10 agility)
More debugging.
Two in a row! And on a Wednesday, too!
I colored two monsters that I had made in 2007, and imported them into the database. No more temporary graphics for Grass Snakes and Rockes (a type of golem).
Worked on smarter, faster, stronger Npc's
for my game.
Fixed Some graphic glitches.

I am using VX for my other game though but I'm pretty much stuck at it due to my limited RGSS knowledge u.u
Python, java are much easier than RGSS, also Sphere or Ika is probably better than RM since source is available at least from sphere that I know of.

Sphere uses java, everything is pixel based, it's simple to use.

Fallout 3 is destroying my game making. The bleh reception to my most recent release isn't helping.
^ There's bound to be some hits and misses sometimes. Also, you've made I believe, three projects in the last six weeks?

Back to the drive, I made three more monsters (Black Eagle, Sahagin and Lake Dragon), which I could only do by re-downloading the SNES RPG Maker. Otherwise I'd get the colors wrong or something.

Sphere isn't slow, what FPS were you using? Sphere is just as fast as ika, I'd use ika but it's not ready for vista yet><

You're putting WAAYYYY too much stock into other people's opinions concerning your game making. I think your expectations are too high.

Me? I'm happy if 3 people play my games.
The hurricane has knocked out the power on the island so I can't play Fallout 3 :( but now I can finally get back to making my game on my laptop until the battery runs out :D
