HIGHLANDER'S REALM ("D&D" FORUM RPG)

I'll take this moment page break to remind everyone that bolded actions are mandatory, no matter what, even if you're knocked out. It's a part of my little rule of NEVER assuming what you want to do.
LockeZ
I'd really like to get rid of LockeZ. His play style is way too unpredictable. He's always like this too. If he ran a country, he'd just kill and imprison people at random until crime stopped.

Although I understand not assuming what people want to do, I don't understand why if three people have posted actions you can't just do those three actions. At least in a non-combat situation. There are times where I want to just let other people act for a while because they're on a roll, and other times where I want to do multiple things right in a row.
People's actions are being completed in-game in the order they're posted in the thread anyway, so it's not like it would get us out of sync or anything. If you check the thread and see some actions, what's the point of intentionally waiting another day to post the results?
Your rule worked fine when we had a small and reasonable number of players, but we don't any more.
Edit: I'm also a little annoyed that we've split up. We'd have split up into four groups instead of two if I didn't invent an artificial reason to drag Froggmin along to the gnoll cave, one that feels very out of character for me. You went to all the trouble of starting over with a new storyline to have more direction, and then made it exactly the same as how the first game started: we started out as strangers, hostile to each-other, and were once again put in an initial event where our only goal was to escape. Three of us did and now we have no reason to ever interact with each-other again.

I understand the split-up annoyance. You didn't have to force your character to take an action they wouldn't have. I had plenty of events planned to keep everyone at least contained to the plains, with one Unifying event to force you all to meet each other and give you a common goal. Since we're getting a little itchy with this start though, I'll go ahead and get some of those unifying events moving along, and I will post these events soon. I've got work this afternoon though, so don't expect anything within a 8 hours. But when I do post something, I'll make sure it's big.
Stay tuned.
Stay tuned.

In other news, Froggmin should post his action.

I did.

I roll a 20 (for stealth). Haha, looks like my luck hath returneth.
((On the subject of reuniting, I would like to have some guidance as to who I can possibly encounter to help get this party formed already)).
(I'm really not sure what to do right now, maybe since I don't have anything stopping me from screaming...)
"Hey you stupid Gnolls, let us go or I'll hit you!!" I shout before realising it's rather unlikely those Gnoll creatures understand me, so I just stare at the nearest gnoll with a big pouty angry face!

That's a stealth roll that you had to make because of my action. You still didn't post anything in bold since your last turn.

Ahh, alright.
I keep following LockeZ.
How's that?
Sorry for taking so long to post. I was, uh, kind of busy hanging out in London with Shinan and Yellow Magic. But now I'm back, and it's business as usual again.
Before I post my action: Have I been able to understand anything that the two gnolls (one of whom is CAVE's character) were saying about us or to each other?

Oh, no you didn't, you don't speak Gnoll.
Also, in regards to LockeZ on the subject of processing everyone's turns at once, I prefer to do all turns at the same time so there's no time discrepancy. If I get a character ahead, even by a few minutes, I could miss some encounters such as passing by in a hallway or running into each other while ebing chased by a dragon or something.
Ratty, the town is in dismay due to events that will lead you to the party. Ignoring the dismayed town is sure to get you into trouble that will ALSO drag you to the party.

I address the gnolls in the room, trying to make some polite conversation: "Gohaya agyiha joibukhra gabrarara. Blagrohiya nalyho paya paya ugrutissima nyeh heh heh."
Since they are so generous as to let us rest up in this place, I will also reach for my bag and pull out some random objects as gifts.
Do I need to make some kind of randomness roll for my Bag of Holding?
P.S.: That's a good theme song for Leara, piano. Well done!
P.P.S.: And respect to CAVE for deciding to play a gnoll, of all things. This should be interesting.

I lean towards Aldus. "If they see, they'll take your bag from you." Continue playing. In fact, go through my repertoire of songs until an opportunity to do something comes up.
(Thank you, NS!)

I look at Leara quizically. "Take my bag from me? Why would you assume that? What if they are allergic to bags, for example? Or just to this bag in particular?"
I smile, and wonder if all of my conversations with Aldus will be like this. "Perhaps, but I suspect such militant creatures would endure a rash and swelling for the promise of what such a bag could offer, plus the fear that you might procure a weapon from it. Not that you would, or even that you could, but I doubt they'd know, or even believe us if we told them otherwise."

At least while not in combat. Once combat starts I totally understand the extra rigidity.
author=SeiromemThis makes me feel a lot better, thanks for the heads up. I probably would've followed them to the gnoll hideout anyway, because despite being kinda out of character, it's way more interesting than going back to wandering the jungle and avoiding all contact with humanoids.

I just look at Leara with a compassionate smile and shake my head a little. "You expect so many things, Leara. Why torture yourself with all those assumptions, fears and conclusions when the premiss can change any moment?"
Which reminds me that Leara is still wounded, a temporary truth that I'm not willing to accept. So I turn to Chloe, who is sitting on the floor pouting, and ask her: "Excuse me for interrupting, my friend, but would you be so kind as to undo the damage the body of our friend Leara has sustained as well? Of course, only if you are still capable of the magic you used on your own person previously. If not, I understand."
Edit:
No, wait. Chloe healed me earlier, so I don't need any healing. I should be at full HP, but the OP simply doesn't reflect that yet. Hang on, let me edit what I posted. There, now it should be correct.
