Glad to see you're back for more, Seiromem! I'm here, at your service.
(P.S.: Sorry for breaking my promise to set up a game of my own. I just didn't have the time and inspiration to work it all out in time. But since we're starting this up again it doesn't matter anyway.)

Aye!
That is the best answer to a roll call.

NS, maybe one of these days we can set up a game together.
Oh, now you're making me curious. Do you happen to have something in mind?
I thinking of something a bit more tactics based, Wing Commander: Privateer type. Have you ever played any of the Privateer games?
Well...the games are part roleplay, part space combat. There's a story, you have to establish yourself through various means, whether you decide to be a merchant, bounty hunter, or pirate. You basically trade and sell, and while transporting what you're selling make sure you fend off pirates (or be the pirate). Try Marrend's Myriad Cypher. It covers the merchant and defense parts of Privateer very well, and pretty nicely mimics the system, even if it is a bit simplified.
That sounds like something I'd prefer to participate in as a player, rather than managing the game itself. But if you decide to start something of that kind, I'm definitely interested.
Well, I'm going to reread the last few pages of this thread to refamiliarise myself with out current situation. I remember it was pretty crazy.
Also, time for an appropriate change of avatar.

LockeZ
I'd really like to get rid of LockeZ. His play style is way too unpredictable. He's always like this too. If he ran a country, he'd just kill and imprison people at random until crime stopped.

Red XIII, standing by.

I heart you so hard, piano. Do you know about Endless Sky on Steam? It's a free game, and more closely takes it's queues from Escape Velocity. However, I think it serves pretty well as a 2D Privateer-clone.
*Edit: This feels like a really awkward post now.

So it seems like we're still missing Ratty and Xoe, correct? Ratty has been active today, so he's definitely here. Maybe he just didn't see or have the time to respond to this game's revival yet.
Xoe apparently hasn't been around for almost a week, and I believe they even got removed from the Mafia game due to inactivity. Seiromem will have to decide if we should wait for them, I assume.

Good, so, reworking the game a bit; you'll still keep the leveling-up and abilities and somesuch, but I'm going to enforce a turn order and simplify skills and the affinity system.
First: For affinity points, you get bonuses at 2 7 and 14, and every 6 levels after 14. You cannot put any affinity points into what you have a deficiency for.
You get deficiency penalties at 3, 6, 9 and every 5 levels after 9. You cannot have deficiencies in what you have affinities for.
Second: Skills.
No more skill points, instead each 'class' gets three skills they add their proficiency and stat bonus to, and you get 2 other skills you're trained in based on the "backstory" detailed below.
For example, Neversilent's Chaos summoner would have Arcana and two random skills as class skills, decided every month.
Another example: Kloe's Healer would have Medicine, Survival and Insight as class skills (You can debate whether or not any of those would be your class skills)
Third, Story.
This is too much of a sandbox. Not enough is happening. You're going through a mine cuz energy crystals. I propose a soft reset. Each of you will start in the same region, albeit separated, and a story event will bring you all together, then you adventure. What type of region (heavily forested, island, snow, desert etc.) and the nature of the story event (demons, other evil creatures, divine intervention, civil war, etc.) then I'll take it from there. You'll also need your starting place; and a small backstory to go along with why you're starting their. Nothing too intensive or anything, but feel free to go all out.
Example: Frogge's Ulak'Lai has finally emerged to the surface. His only goal: Revenge on those that contaminated him. His goal is to find the ones who afflicted him with magical pollution.
Possible skills from this backstory: Athletics, Survival.
Lastly...
level.
You'll level up fast at first, I'm certain, but it would help me organize if you all start back at level one. If you have any grievance with this let me know.
If you dislike the character you have, now is the time for a new one.
Understand? If you have any questions or concerns, let me know.
If you're okay with this, please state what region type you want, and if you'll be making a new character. Just know I do like all your characters. (you can also just change your class name)

So basically, starting the game over. Of course, I'm uncomfortable with a level reset, but if that makes this easier for you, I don't mind.
OOoh I like that backstory. But how about something with a twist.
Frogge was a normal boy, but one day he was bit by a radiactive frog causing him to turn into an Urak'Lai! Don't actually make that my story
My region type? I'd like jungle, I think :3

Just so you know, it's it'll be a democratic vote for the region (you're all starting in the same one)
So perhaps a top 3 preferences might be desired.
also ulak'lai aren't frogs, they're reptiles. You know, like congress.
E: Nice snipe, piano.
