[GAME OVER] SPY VS. MAFIA

Alright! So apparently we hammered LockeZ before letting TL tell us more about Green. That's a shame, but I'm pretty sure we can figure it out anyway.
Joyless's death brings up a lot of questions. She can't have been modkilled, seeing as her alignment has been revealed. However, there doesn't seem to be any reason for scum to target her. Theories?
Possibly the agents have a nightkill sort of thing as well and are just targeting the "least useful" town player. Oh well.

I'm going to bed now but before I do, I might as well leave this here for everyone else to ponder:
author=Isrieri
I'll hammer us right now if you can tell me, TangledLion, who you think the other colors are. I think I might already know one of them.
What did Isrieri mean by this?
First off, I wasn't gonna actually hammer Ratty. It was hyberbole. Since I forgot to cancel TangledLion and my Ratty vote didn't count, I just left it on Tangled all day.
It was LockeZ who I thought was the other scum:
author=Isrieri
We learned that Ratty & TangledLion are probably in cahoots. And I think that maybe Liberty & LockeZ might also be, based on the smallest of gut hunches. Whose side they are on, I couldn't say for sure.
Tangled's reveal was right out of left field and I couldn't make heads or tails whether Ratty was mafia (I thought he and TangledLion were, at first), an agent, or if Tangled was doubling back on himself. So I didn't want to make a move. The prospect of lynching potential agents was too scary.
LockeZ made that post trying to make Ratty look suspicious, and I called it a stretch. Cuz it was super scummy. And he totally knew that I knew it.

Since such a thing as a double-agent exists, there's probably other traps and night actions we don't know about. Joyless might have befallen a wayward bullet or something. I can't say for sure, but that's my best guess.

Both YM's and Liberty's confusion about how the whole mafia/agent chat thing worked seemed pretty genuine to me. I strongly feel they're town, but haven't found a definite alibi for them yet.
Yellow Magic definitely yes. Liberty I disagree.
I can't exactly say for sure why I feel Liberty & LockeZ were the scumteam, but some of it has to do with her calling out psy for his metagame thinking. It felt to me like she was trying to protect LockeZ from the lynch despite psy bringing actual decsive evidence to play (an EXTREMELY rare thing in mafia!). There's not a whole lot you can say as scum to turn that particular knife, so she furrowed her brow at psy.
And Libby let me clarify that I don't believe you were making up any of that just for LockeZ. To be honest I also kind of frown upon that kind of meta stuff and it takes the fun out of the game a bit. I believe you were sincere, It just ALSO happened to be convenient as an attempt to talk down psy's claim.
Since my gut turned out to be half-right I'm gonna trust it to be all-right.
#lynch Liberty
Clearly you aren't giving her enough credit, Tunger.
Also oddRabbit is NOT a good lynch. That's some LockeZ thinking: Killing him just for not being useful. I don't know how useful he may turn out to be yet, but if I think he's town, I'm not going to kill the guy. I totally understand how you feel because I wanted him SO dead, last game. But after experiencing that, I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt this time around. We have information now and we have to use that information to make informed lynches.
Let me lay this out very plainly:
As far as I'm concerned, town has onlytwo three choices of who to lynch today: Me, or Liberty (or Tunger).
I agree that psy, Kloe, Ratty, and Yellow Magic are town. Gourd is absolutely not mafia. You, Tunger, I was completely ambivalent toward. But you apparently have doubts on Gourd and want to kill oddRabbit. That's just nasty crazy talk. With NeverSilent I agree that he was the one who spearheaded the bandwagon on Ratty and after it died he went pretty quiet, but I have no idea whether that's an agent or a mafia tactic right there. You gotta remember that agents are a thing. Scum vibes may come from both.
I am pretty suspicious right now, I admit. My votes have been all over the place, and I didn't vote for LockeZ along with everyone else (that was because I was super tired that day and went to bed early, but that's no excuse in mafia).
But when I said I was not an agent, that wasn't a lie. I'm a safe kill for town, and if you kill me today that should eliminate some doubt. It will mean that scum has a greater chance of nailing one of our agents, but since we have two left (if I understand correctly, each team started with three and Tangled was a member of both) we afford to take a risk. The chip's in our pile!
But guys Liberty is totally mafia I'm super serious. She and LockeZ were playing it on the downlow earlier and mostly remained silent when the Ratty bandwagon was starting to form up And she was super not thrilled with voting for LockeZ. That doesn't seem very professional agent behavior. I can't pin it precisely, but the way she posted during the debacle (for lack of a better word) rubbed me the wrong way. It just seemed like she was trying to conflate the issue. I mean I sure was thrown for a loop (YM was too, it seems). Everyone was trying to make sense of what was going on but it felt like she wanted to take advantage of everyone's uncertainty.
It may be possible that agents or someone else can use an ability so I think if that's the case, best course of action is to either Lynch Liberty and kill me, or vice versa.
The TRULY best case scenario would be to kill Tunger & Liberty because I'm fucking town.

That's my case and that's all I'm going to say today. But I will append this:
I trust my gut on this one, but as I said before, scum vibes may come from either agents or town.
If by chance I AM really on the wrong track here. There's a pretty easy way to figure this out.

Sorry, Isri, but your gut is wrong.
The reason I was so upset about the whole metagaming thing is because I saw what it did to the last game I ran and because it's bullshit that shouldn't be used in mafia. Full stop. Seriously, that's the only reason. It makes the game less about finding contradictions in the posts of the thread and more about looking at past plays and using posts from outside of the topic to make a case. That is just fucking bullshit. It wasn't even fucking posts from another mafia game which could at least be considered as 'hey, this is how x plays'. No, it was pulling posts from completely different places in order to make a case. Fuck that. That is not how mafia should be played and I'm still super pissed over the whole thing.
I could care less that it saw LockeZ hang - if I'd wanted to try and protect him at all I would have found an actual argument in the thread instead.
But hey, here's a question you should be asking - how was mafia supposed to know who was who and plan together when they were all using code names in the mafia chat - or so our now-dead double-agent told us.
I can tell you one thing for sure - there are other powers in play in this game.

I'm having trouble figuring out how Gourd's posts proves he isn't mafia, too. Care to explain that one a bit better?
Also, Yellow Magic is experienced enough a player that I wouldn't consider him using a sacrifice ploy as a major play. If we were talking about some of the less experienced players, then yeah, that might be a bit much, but there are some like yourself, Yellow, myself, LockeZ and possibly Gourd now (he's been in a fair amount of games now to have picked up tricks, but still slide under the radar as 'newbie').
As for why I was quiet the last few days - I've been doing a lot of streaming, meaning staying up all night and sleeping most of the days. Then had family turn up for my grandfather's funeral which was all kinds of hectic, and yeah, just knackered in general. I can't be around all the time, after all, even though it seems like I might be (piano even overtook me in post amounts this month!!!) Even as we speak I just woke up from sleeping and it's 3pm my time. >.<;

Goddamnit. Serves me right for posting when I just got up. XD
I know because I claimed my one a while back, but it slipped way under the radar... I'm sure close study of my posts will bring it to light.

It depends on who it is. If you really look at the way a person posts, we all have tells. You could probably make a safe guess.

I propose this method:
I'll list four possible people I think would be good targets to lynch. Each of you then tell me which of those four you think I should pick. Tell me it's a "weak preference" if it's just your opinion of which one would be the best target. Tell me it's a "strong preference" if you are one of the other three people. Based on your preferences I'll pick who to kill tonight.
If both of you have a strong preference, and you prefer two different people, I'll pick someone else to kill who wasn't in my list of four people (to ensure I'm not killing scum).
Tomorrow we'll do the same thing except Mr. Green will choose the list, and on day three Mr. Black will choose the list.
Sound like a plan? It's a little convoluted, but it ensures our safety as well as I think is reasonably possible.

It was Gourd's idea to not kill Ratty & Tangled because if they were agents after all, the mafia would just kill 'em in the night. He saw that killing them would be a waste. Mafia would probably not want to draw that conclusion. Theoretically you could turn that into a gambit to appear totally confirmed town. But why would mafia pass up the opportunity to nail two agents in one day? At the time psy had not come forward with his LockeZ suspicions.
Also that's quite a schedule you've had!! I feel a little bad now.
Okay, so somehow Joyful died, and Tangled died as we pretty much expected.
Libby and Isrieri, I have a question, you keep bolding random words, any reason for that? Emphasis? Secret message perhaps?
And I've gotta say, I'm pretty sure YM, Me, Ratty and Psy are all town alligned, not sure about Libby's alignment (but I know what she thinks about meta, god you've repeated that like 4 times), Tung seems town but I'm not 100% and yeah, the others, no idea.
(And I need to go to school in an hour so sorry if I go quiet soon)

I could almost swear I posted the same thing. I can't find it, though, but I was sure I did. Something along the lines of 'we shouldn't kill them off like a fucking idiot because that would give two kills for mafia instead of forcing them to pick only one'. I'm sure I bloody posted it, but damn if I can find it. Maybe I got distracted by another point. :/

I pointed out waaaay earlier that I don't like the bullshit that is meta-gaming. It's funny - when I first started playing mafia I was all for that shit but recently after seeing how it can potentially ruin some of the plans you have as a GM I've grown to hate it. It just zaps out all the fun of trying to catch each other out on a lie based on actions and reactions.
Also, I never said that anything to actually argue against LockeZ being mafia or protect him in any way - I was just raging against the way he was found out, not that he was. I mean, you say it seemed like I was trying to take advantage of the confusion but how was I supposedly doing that? It's pretty clear I was just ranting at the method used.
I still maintain it's bullshit and shouldn't have ever been used. Hell, I'd argue that psy should have been killed off for it and I don't care if that makes me sound like mafia or whatever. It seriously pisses me off that someone went and did that. Fucking hell.
And yeah, my life has been pretty hectic, but you weren't to know that so no worries.
I'm gonna re-search the thread to find that post I'm sure I made.
Kloe, I use bold for emphasis. I messed up the bold on light, though, but only realised that after posting. Can't edit it now. :/
Tung, not accusing you of anything but I want you to try to be honest with us, did you be a vigillante and kill Joyless last night? Its just by your logic, Joyless is exactly who you would've killed if you could and I'm fairly sure we can be certian there is at least 1 more power in play.
Libby doesn't seem like the oddest choice, I think her writing style could match with Green, but really I would be grasping at straws to explain any sort of way that Libby could be Green.
Ironically NeverSilent is being rather silent... Haha, that's actually pretty funny, lol, the irony.
Really, I have no idea how we proceed.

Yeah, I'd say it was emphasis but you haven't used it enough AND Isrieri is doing almost the same thing.
I mean isn't key words how Ratty identified Tangled, due to the word "White" or aome mention of a colour?
I may be completely off targt, but it can't be a worse theory than anything else I have since I haven't actually got anything else!
